Positive: Attractive garden, comfortable room, friendly hosts, nice home cooking with plenty of vegetables

Negative: Very expensive, not good value for money, given that it was in an attractive but unexceptional place. One example: only coffee in room, no tea though we had a kettle so I asked for a tea bag. Our hostess kindly made us a pot of tea but when we got the bill that item was €8! The total bill for 2 nights with breakfast and modest evening meal with wine was €555! Nice but over-priced

Positive: Breakfast and location are excellent. The owners have been there only three months after 30 years in restaurants in Paris. Dinner there is excellent and there’s a nice list of reasonably priced wines of the region. This is the kind of place you like to find but seldom do. Would go back without hesitation.

Negative: Nothing!

Positive: The Auberge Sainte-Gemme is a little gem. The room was clean, v comfortable bed and v peaceful. Beautiful view towards Sancerre. The owners, Chantelle and Claude, were v friendly, kind and generous. Greeting us with a refreshing lemonade. The food, cooked by Claude Colliot, was subtle and delicious, made with local produce, and for us, being vegetarian, it had lots of delicious vegetables, although of course meat eaters had v tasty looking plates too. Highly recommended.

Negative: There is nothing to report that we didn't like. Just that we had to leave.

Positive: perfect location , quite and peaceful , very close to Sancerre centre only 5 km drive trough a beautifully vineyard roads , very clean with high end amenities , fresh food , great wine selection the garden is beautifully arranged with flowers and little islands pot of herbs there is a sun-bed to chill in the shade in the afternoon, dinners tables in the garden are lit up in the evening with a candles just perfect evening in the nature ,the host took such a great care of us preparing breakfast every morning and give us water and snack for the road when we left , what a pleasure and great experience with have , highly recommended for a relaxing stay with a very warm welcome from Gusto the dog
