Positive: We loved our stay at Athali villa in Krousonas. It's really a beautiful villa with all amenities in a very welcoming Cretan setting for a truly Greek experience. Centrally located for exploring the entire island by car. We arrived late in the evening but because the key was in a locker this was no problem. We were hungry and went to Grill House Kokologianis at Giorgos 'Square'. We got such a warm welcome by this lovely greek family and eat the best gyros ever! The people of Krousonas made our holiday an unforgettable experience. So hospitable and generous. We enjoyed everything the villa had to offer. The view from the bedroom, the wonderful jacuzzi, nice kitchen and the beautiful decor of our accommodation made us feel at home.

Negative: Upon arrival, the jacuzzi was cold, and I contacted the owner via WhatsApp to ask how we could fix it. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a reply. We found the solution ourselves. It later turned out that the owner had sent a message through Booking.com about an electrical problem. Suggestions for improvement: * There are no dishcloths or towels in the kitchen. * A broom and dustpan would be helpful for a week-long stay. * The bed slats need to be secured. My partner fell through the bed a few times when sitting down at the end of the bed. * A curtain at the window (next to the bath in the bedroom) would have been very helpful. The light coming through would wake you up early.

Positive: The village of Krousonas is charming. We had the luck to visit during a local festival and it was the highlight of our trip. It is in a perfect location - away from busy Iraklio, with a beautiful road leading up to the village (<20min). The property is somewhat secluded, near the top of the village. Feels secure, with a large door/wall providing an entrance. The bedroom is large, with plenty windows, and a very nice balcony allowing you to see the village, Iraklio and the ocean from far. The host is responsive.

Negative: The house layout involves climbing stairs (not ideal for disabled/people with difficulty on stairs) - the washroom upstairs by the bedroom has only a toilet and sink, while downstairs is the bath.

Summary: Welcomed by the people of Krousonas for an immersive experience in the Cretan countryside.

Positive: Beautiful property in a lovely mountainous area. Lots of room and very nice veranda. Close to several nice bakeries as well, locals were really lovely even though it was winding down to the end of season.

Negative: Could have done with more kitchen equipment for cooking, such as a knife. Otherwise lovely. Just as a FYI, a car is needed in this area as although close to Heraklion it is so in driving distance and public transport to this particular location is limited

Positive: Very spacious and clean. We had a dehumidifier that helped a lot with comfort and drying clothes on windy weather. Air conditioner was working properly as well.

Negative: We didn't have an all purpose knife to cut vegetables, fruits, etc. We had to buy supplies like paper towels and garbage bags ourselves. We didn't have clothes pins to secure our laundry to the rack (it was very windy and we could have used some pins - the other studio from Athali Villa had them). One other thing that would have helped us - a wardrobe. There was a built in shelf in the wall to store clothes, but it had insufficient space and would collect a lot of dust.
