Positive: Great location right in the middle of Medina. The house is somewhat hidden in an alley (I had some issues finding it when I arrived, but with Nour giving me instructions over the phone we got it sorted out quickly). Even so, it feels like a really safe neighborhood. The house is charming, it’s a very welcoming atmosphere and I immediately adopted the two lovely cats. When I arrived, the two hosts helped me organize my trip and offered valuable recommendations. They also have some connections in Djerba and have great advice for everyone who wants to visit that part of Tunisia as well. They even prepared a vegan breakfast for me - one of the best I’ve had during my two weeks in Tunisia. The room was clean and comfortable, it had everything you might need for a 2-night stay in Tunis. I stayed in two other accommodations in Tunis on this trip, but Atelier D was by far my favorite. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to experience an authentic and relaxed stay in Tunis.

Positive: It started off really well. The message from the owners through booking was very warm and welcoming. They gave us some tips on what to do and not to do when arriving at the airport at Tunis. Very helpful they answered a few more questions we had and showed availability to welcome us even when we told them our flight was arriving very late ( around 2AM). At the airport we arranged to meet the hosts in a nearby place acessible by car since the car can not go up to the door of their location. All went well. When we arrived we were welcomed and even the cats showed us some welcoming love. The room was cozy with a private bathroom , towels , internet router in the room and even a patio. The room is well decorated and has air conditioning too. We had a good breakfast with our host and a nice chat and they gave us a few more tips about food places to visit and so on. It all ended well since we really bonded and found an extremely welcoming couple that treat their guests as friends.

Negative: nothing really was not likeable

Summary: just like staying with good friends

Positive: My homestay hosts were very kind, generous and flexible, and over the week I had plenty of time to get to know them personally. We spent time over a good breakfast of eggs, pastries, bread and coffee, to sit and talk for a while - for a solo traveller this is much more interesting than just grabbing a croissant and sitting alone in a hotel lobby! They also respected privacy and my own schedule. My room was of a decent size and much expanded by the generous terrace, which is great to relax in during early morning, and in the evenings. I was able to spend time in the common areas as if it were my own home too.

Negative: Nothing springs to mind.

Summary: The hosts were kind, flexible and accommodating. This was an excellent chilled-out homestay!

Positive: The hosts are very nice and help you find the place and feel comfortable. The room was comfortable and had air conditioning which was helpful because it was quite hot when I was visiting. The private terrace was very nice and spacious. Cute and friendly cats. Breakfast was an omlette with bread, cheese, yogurt and coffee with the hosts. Good value for money.

Negative: If you're a female traveler, walking in the medina at night to get home can be scary because it isn't lit well and small alleyways, etc. Also, if you have heavy luggage, it is less practical because you cannot access it directly by taxi and then have to take your luggage up the stairs.
