Summary: Tomintoul is a lovely little village in the highlands. The hosts are terrific, breakfast was lovely, and the bed was comfortable. We'd definitely go back!

Summary: A very friendly welcome from Diane, the owner. Who showed me the room and how everything worked. There was plenty of information available on local attractions but the best was just talking to Diane herself. A good breakfast. They are proud of their porridge ( and rightly so ) sets you up for the day. There are places in the village to get food. This is a small village so no high street brands but whilst more restricted in the winter months there is still a choice. With a free public car park opposite and the freedom to come and go as you please, this is a good choice for a more rural break in the Cairngorms. It’s probably worth mentioning that this is probably the nearest guest house to the Lecht ski centre (however they don’t promise snow)
