Positive: It is a lovely house and the bonus of plenty of wood for the log fire was welcomed with storm Dave and snow outside. It is a lovely garden and lots of birds at the bird feeders and even a red squirrel.

Positive: Lots of room, well-equipped, brilliant location, close proximity to amazing hikes, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere, comfy beds - overall a brilliant little cottage!

Negative: The booking page shows different check-in & check-out times (5pm and 9am respectively) to the ones sent in a message from the host (4pm and 10am respectively). Thankfully, the latter seemed to be the correct ones but it did cause a bit of uncertainty. Also, a tiny bit more firewood would've been nice given the weather.

Positive: Very clean, tidy and well equipped and nice touches like providing disposables like washing up liquid, washing powder, toilet rolls, a starter of milk, tea, coffee etc.

Negative: Can't think of anything really. The Fortinghall Hotel would have been good if it was just across the road with a less snobby barman but you can't do much about that!

Summary: Excellent spot for our hill walking activities and for exploring the ancient history of the area.

Positive: We loved the house and location, very comfortable and well equipped,and very good bed . So enjoyed our holiday here as it was so peaceful and relaxing. Defiantly be back !
