Positive: The flats is very central and quite large. The bed was very comfy. Kitchen is well equipped.

Negative: We had cold water for two days. I wrote an email and also a message over Booking.com and got not reply. My wife was having chemo treatment and could not shower for two mornings. We had a parking bay booked and when we got home at night it was occupied, so we had to park on the street and pay. I wrote an email and the reply was simply "park in the next one, we own both" - so why was someone parked in the one allocated to us or how about an apology/explanation? The owner did apologize once we had left, but this was not a cheap appartement and the service was simply not good enough for the price. Will not return.

Positive: Check-in was easy via a lock box. The apartment was spacious and comfortable for a week-long stay. The location was excellent - in the middle of the city and convenient to restaurants and shops, as well as the train station, which was less than a 10-minute walk. The kitchen was nice and well-equipped, making it easy to prepare our own food. The internet was easy to connect to and fast. The host was generally communicative and helped with some things, for example, by providing an iron and ironing board and a second key when asked.

Negative: The biggest problem was with the hot water. The water is heated by a flow-through system that is uses electricity. When the hot water worked, the temperature of the water was not quite warm enough to feel comfortable in the shower. Worse, the circuit breaker kept tripping off if the shower was running more than about 10 minutes, making it basically impossible for my wife and me each to have a shower in the morning without the water going cold. When the water went cold, the breaker could be flipped on, and the water got warm, but then after a minute or so, the breaker would trip off again. I think that either the breaker was going bad or the water heater is drawing too much current for the circuit. I wrote every day to the host to provide an update on the water situation, but she did not do anything about the hot water problem during our stay, and she did not offer to compensate us for the discomfort of taking leukwarm or cold showers for seven days. The other, more minor, issue was with the double-sided locks on the outside door and the inside door to the apartment. We were first given only one key, making it impossible for my wife and me to come and go independently. After asking for a second key, the host eventually delivered one, which was helpful. If more than one person is staying in the apartment, I recommend that each one have his/her own key.

Summary: Comfortable place to stay in the center of Goettingen, if the hot water is working.
