Positive: The apartment (studio?) is in a quiet village, on a quiet street, and it's an absolute gem. The outside looks like an old, well-maintained farmhouse, but the inside blends modern features with original accents (like exposed wood beams). The kitchen sports contemporary cabinets and a plethora of modern appliances, including the coolest kettle I've seen on my trips. There's a plethora of utensils and all that one needs for cooking, including -- a rarity -- a wall over. The beds are comfy and I liked that the toilet was separate from the shower. The AC is one of those Mitsubishi model that has a quiet mode, great for nighttime and light sleepers. The backyard has a few trees and a perfect place to put a hammock and enjoy the evening, maybe with a glass of fabulous local wines. There's a grocery store around the corner and several small restaurants in the city center. The village itself is about 20 minutes away from Trieste and the local roads are well maintained, with gorgeous vineyards and yet minimal traffic. It's about an hour, hour-and-a-half to Kranjska Gora / Triglav National Park, depending what route you take (either way the whole area is breathtaking). Ljubljana is also about an hour and a half away.

Negative: I only regret that I didn't find this place sooner so I can stay at least a week, if not more.

Positive: Clean minimalist design. Very nice and comfortable. Furniture looks like new. Silent place.

Negative: There is no kettle, you need to use pot on the gas cooker to boil the water for your coffee. Remember to get your own food in advance. There are only a few small bags of coffee, tea and sweetener. And no shops around at the evening.

Positive: Excellent location in the Old Town, so central to many bars/restaurants/sights. Like most of Old Town you do need to go up a number of steps to the apartment but once prepared for this it is fine and was always well lit, even at night. Apartment itself was perfect for 2 couples and the treats and bits in the fridge were a lovely extra touch. Very clean throughout. We were greeted at Pile Gate and brought to the apartment, communication was great. Highly recommend.

Negative: The only thing I felt was missing was a mirror in the bedroom to help get ready :)

Summary: Fantastic Stay-we’ll be back!!
