Summary: lovely place and people. However, I discovered a failure of communication from Expedia to the hotel. Expedia fails to inform the hotel whether the booking is fully paid. Without the voucher, the hotel had the booking but not this information. A system failure at the Expedia end.

Summary: Away from the main tourist destinations, but plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. Food was excellent for a cafeteria style facility. Reception was very helpful and the animators (people organising the events in the resort) were enthusiastic. Swimming pool large and deep. Generally a well run resort although looking a bit tired in places.

Summary: We felt very well at Laurisilva. The kitchen utensils are certainly minimal, no good cutting knife, no microwave (nowadays this is a must!). But some of the staff at the reception was very helpful, especially Iballa was outstanding, gave us most useful information and always made us feel like family. The opening hours of the pool are quite odd, only from 11:00 to 19:00. The location is very good, close to a Spar-Market and to a parking lot.

Summary: This hotel exceeded my expectations. One can always find things that could be improved, but for me those things were inconsequential compared to the overall feeling that the complex is well-maintained and well-run. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless, the shower was hot with good water pressure, and the room was quiet at night even though it faced the street. The pool area was nicely landscaped and there were enough sunbeds. The breakfast was reliably good without being spectacular. Staff were always helpful and friendly.

Summary: Much more room than a typical hotel. Beds were not comfortable but service and food were good. Good value for this standard.

Summary: Spent a very pleasant christmas break at the Laurisilva. Apartment complex was quiet, which I like, but in need of some TLC to freshen it up. Each evening we walked along the front to watch sunset whilst drinking a cool beer listening to bongoes. So Not Los Christianos.

Summary: This was a good, but perhaps not quite a great hotel. The food was good and the staff friendly. The rooms were good, but the pillows were all rock hard making it harder to sleep than it otherwise might have been. Other than that, it was good and the pool is really nice. I would recommend bringing your own pillow and other than that, this is a highly recommended place to stay.
