Positive: Host spoke English very well and was quick to respond. Clean place with typical apartment facilities. Quiet residential neighbourhood. Walkable to the airport with light luggage. Bus number 20 runs during the day from the apartment block to Plato for 45 CVE. Note that air conditioning costs an extra 10 euros.

Negative: The apartment was hotter than outside because the closed windows trapped heat in the afternoon. The host preferred windows not to be opened fully because sudden gusts can cause damage. A fan would be very helpful in that case. Some spoons and forks had rust. Weak water pressure in the shower at night.

Positive: The communication with the lady who owned the place was great. She was there waiting for us when we arrived. Ideal location for an airport layover. Check-in and checkout procedure was easy, clear and no problem. We left the windows open for a bit before bed and the ambient temperature was great. Good sized apartment, living room area for relaxing and a little balcony too. The internet went down for 15 minutes for no reason and the lady whose apartment it was was very helpful trying to get the issue resolved. We got some good tips on how to get from the apartment to the city centre in order to catch an aluguer to Tarrafal. Quiet area, very little noise.

Negative: Getting from the apartment to Praia was confusing. There are some local minibuses but no information about them online. You can walk the 2km to the airport, but proved quite tricky getting to Praia itself. No shops, cafés or restaurants anywhere near the apartment. Bed and pillows are not the most comfortable, the sort of mattress where the slightest motion is felt by whoever else is in the bed with you.

Positive: Very near the airport. Either a 2km walk, or catch a cab. Best to walk off the airport property and catch a cab there, it's cheaper if they don't have to use the airport grounds. Good sized apartment. Kept clean. Internet worked well. Good price if you're doing an airport layover. Quiet area where the apartment was. The lady whose apartment it was ended up taking us to and from the airport for free as an apology for the mix up described below. Late check-in and early check-out wasn't a problem. Air conditioning was an option for an extra €10. We didn't use it but left the window open and the temperature was ok. Free water bottles in the fridge was a welcome touch after a long journey. Some shower gel provided for using.

Negative: I got a lot of missed calls the night before the reservation as the lady had confused the dates and wanted to know where I was. When we were on our flight, I got a message saying the apartment had been double booked and asked if we could either book somewhere else or share the apartment with a stranger. With so little notice, we had no choice but to take the option to share the apartment with a stranger. We never saw them as we arrived late and left early. It ended up being ok, but with the previous incident also, these did not give us good vibes on the way to the place. Nothing around the apartment, no shops, cafés or anything. Big emphasis on only plugging the water pump / boiler in when using the shower and turning it off again afterwards. No water when the pump is not plugged in.
