Summary: This hotel does not keep what it promises. A wonderful, old building with tasteful interior loses the magic due to lack of cleaning and basic things which should be in place. I paied for a suite and got placed in the wintergarten. Lack of curatains made it impossible for me to sleep, and also people could look into the room. I changed into a new room and the problems didn’t end… Almost no hot water, and certainly not enough ti take a quick shower. The solution was to wait, as the water heater was so small… Seriously?? Cleaning was a disaster. Cobweb in the ceeling. Things left in drawers and shelves from previous guests. Broken lamps, only a few that works. Even a used t-shirt in the bathroom!! The glasses were dirty. No houskeeping, even on request. No wine in the minibar or at the hotel bar. They were «out» for the whole week, and I guess never thought it important enough to but some… Only positive thing about this stay was that the front desk guys were were friendly and tried there best. But it just is’nt good enough with a smile when everything is a disaster…

Summary: We would not stay here again. The whole hotel is very run down, carpets and walls are filthy, furniture in our room was broken. We saw huge spiders webs on lamp shades which clearly hadn’t been dusted in a long time. Our room smelled of damp so we had to leave the window open the whole time. We were in an attic room so had to bend down under the rafters to get to the bed. We had a TV which hadn’t been plugged in or tuned yet. We had a phone which also hadn’t been set up or connected. The staff all seemed friendly but clueless about anything we asked them, with no management present. Breakfast food was minimal and all cheap ingredients from Spar. You also cannot get to the hotel by taxi, as the road is for permit holders also, so you have to walk the last 100m or so from the end of the road.

Summary: Very disappointing stay. The gentleman on reception was lovely - the only redeeming feature. On checking in to our room, the key didn't work and it took the lady a number of attempts to get in. I expressed concern about if that happened on our return after 11pm (when there would be no one on the desk) and she said 'it would be fine and would definitely work'. Not sure how she knew this. The room was like an oven with the makeshift AC unit weirdly blowing hot air out. We said we cannot stay in this room, it's unbearable. I said to my sister we'll need to get a refund once we get home. She overheard and said 'you can't have a refund.' I said let's see. She went to speak to someone and then returned to say we could have a full refund and choose to stay elsewhere, or she could put us in another room with working AC. By this time it was getting late so we took the room, which did have working AC. Returning later, however, we only realised that the AC unit's pipe was feeding out of the window which had to be open. So there was an open window, on a ground floor room onto the street, for 2 females. Real safety concerns. So we had to shut the window and swelter all night. We found this really unacceptable, coupled with a toilet that stank of stale smoke, so unfortunately would not recommend.

Summary: Overnight stay ahead of an early flight the next morning. Hotel was nice and a little quirky, room was done out with lots of mosaic mirrors Staff were helpful Only issue was parking, quoted when booking that there is some free parking, but it is limited to two spaces so you have to be lucky to get one. Nearest parking is a secure underground car park around 200m for the hotel

Summary: You can’t beat the location of this hotel—beautiful neighborhood and easily walkable to the city center, plus the staff were lovely and friendly. That said, the hotel and rooms are outdated and cramped. The shower layout was a major downside; it felt like a camping setup and you have to be very careful stepping out of the tub. Great for location lovers, but be prepared for older amenities.

Summary: If you like historic hotels, this would be a good place to stay. Stefan was very helpful during check-in, as well as that other times during our day if we needed assistance i.e., the hotel does not have central air-conditioning, but Stefan brought us a fan that kept the room comfortable. As with many historical hotels, the rooms are small; the amenities we’re satisfactory. Location wise, it was perfect as we were literally a block away from the old city river walk area.

Summary: This was a beautiful and magical place to stay. We quite enjoyed our time but things to note is that there is no AC and there was a tub and a hand held shower head but not an option for a shower you have to just stand in the bath and hold the shower head which I haven’t experienced before! Other than that beautiful place and very easy access point to the city!
