Anita's Guest House is in a very private setting in an amazing neighborhood. An exceptional location within walking distance to both Redwood City and San Carlos. We are close to public transportation with easy access to major freeways halfway between SF & Santa Clara/SJ. Close to Stanford, Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood Shores, San Carlos, etc. Ideal for Business Travelers. I host many Corporate Travelers. We do not accept animals due to allergies and asthma. Many of our guests are repeat guests that have allergies.

The Guest House is self-contained, private and has a secluded backyard with table and chairs. A rare find on the peninsula. Very private and peaceful setting in a high-end neighborhood, there is always parking on the street. Great place to relax and enjoy your vacation or if you have to work a good place to have a drink and rest after working.
The Guest House is a legal rental unit with individual utilities and cable/internet - Not shared. The backyard is a perfect retreat. If you are someone that wants privacy, this is the place for you. There is a smart keypad on the door for late check-in. Guest House is not connected to the main house with a private entrance and backyard. Great place to unwind at the end of the day. Beautiful neighborhood, close to everything. Excellent for walking, jogging, families with kids - parks are nearby and within walking distance. Walking distance to both downtown Redwood City and south side of San Carlos. Lots of great restaurants and grocery stores.

Summary: This property was in a beautiful area of homes with large lots and gorgeous landscaping. The home was exactly as described, the beds very comfortable and the our stay was a wonderful one. Anita made us feel very welcome and we deeply appreciated the snacks and beverages she made available for us.

Summary: We were looking for a place walking distance from our son's house for a Thanksgiving weekend family gathering. This was perfect! And, like his house, very convenient to downtown Redwood City with all it's cute coffee shops, etc.

Summary: Anita’s Hideaway is a wonderful gem in a quiet neighborhood. The place was very clean and comfortable. It was a great treat, and very much appreciated, to have the kitchen stocked with coffee, water, drinks and snacks! Anita provides plenty of toiletries and all of the necessities. There is also a lovely backyard patio - a relaxing place to enjoy your morning coffee!

Summary: We were in town to visit our family for a long weekend. This guest house is in a quiet and private location, and was a terrific find for us. The house is as shown in the photos, including the wonderful backyard, and was very clean and tastefully decorated. We really loved the little extras that Anita supplied: water & juices, treats, shampoos, etc. Although we did not cook a lot this time around, we appreciated the full kitchen. Parking on the street was never an issue, as there was always a space available. All in all, we would recommend this guest house for anyone traveling that appreciates quiet, privacy, and a beautiful neighborhood. We look forward to staying again soon!

Summary: A 3 car garage converted into a suite perfect for a couple or small family. The construction and use of space were well thought out because although it's little...it doesn't feel like it. The suite has most all the comforts of "home sweet home". What was sweet: Early Arrival (owner let us access rental before check-in--SWEET!) Snacks (if you arrive hungry there are plenty of snacks to eat--SWEET!) Clean, Quiet, Nicely Furnished (SWEET!) Backyard (lovely landscaping, space to reflect and engage--SWEET!) Deposit (returned fast--SWEET!) Best Bonus Ever-Black Makeup Facecloth (I don't know why most rentals (commercial and private) use white towels. I always feel guilty about getting makeup all over it--even using makeup remover there is residue). You don't have to worry about leaving stains on a black facecloth--SWEET!!!) Friendly suggestions: (I would stay here with or without these suggestions) Full-size ironing board (I hate those baby-doll sized ironing boards). TV-put tv's in both bedrooms. Blackout curtains in bedrooms to keep the sun out and give the guest a greater sense of privacy. Parking (space is a converted garage on owner's property. If guest park in the driveway I don't see how the owner could come and go. We had family who picked/dropped us off, but if you have a car I'm not sure where you would park??? Potential safety issue-there is a DROP from where the garage was extended between 2nd bedroom and kitchen/LR/MBR meet. The owner should address/minimally put a sign to "BEWARE OF DROP" Hook behind the bathroom door is a cheap addition.

Summary: This was the perfect spot for my parents to stay when they were visiting us. They had their private space, but were close to our house so it was easy for them to come and go.

Summary: We were in town to visit Stanford and tour San Francisco. This guest house was a great location for our home base. The house is as advertised and even has a nice little grassy area and patio. The kitchen was pre-stocked with some essentials which was really nice after a long day of driving. Parking was never an issue, always plenty of space on the street which is nice. All in all, I would recommend this guest house for anyone traveling that appreciates the comforts of home for less than a nice hotel room would cost. You won't regret renting this house.
