Positive: Very sweet and friendly hosts, great breakfast and service, friendly guests to chat with, beautiful rooms and decor, and the goodess inn dog!

Negative: Heating system was not working on the first night despite sub-zero temperatures (celcius) outside, which made for a cold first night. However, the hosts quickly fixed it with a portable heater the next day.

Positive: Everything about the operation was thoughtful. The room was comfortable. The towels were fluffy. The house was beautiful and well- kept. The owners were kind and helpful. The breakfast was superb. The tea service at all hours was much appreciated. The porch and the back garden were a great place to relax.

Positive: Beautiful, classic New England inn with a lovely screened-in porch and beautiful common areas. Perfect location - across the street from the Dickinson home. The hospitality of the innkeeper was warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast.

Negative: I would have loved if it included a bathrobe.

Positive: The breakfast was outstanding -- a long list of options each prepared fresh. I usually have trouble sleeping in a new bed but I slept for 11 hours straight. The entire place is perfectly designed in 1880s style, each room offering splendid design details to look at and admire. But also modern enough to be subtly air-conditioned which was greatly appreciated on 90degree days. The hosts are very welcoming but never obtrusive. And the "welcome mutt" Stubby is the sweetest little guy. One of the best places I've ever stayed in.

Positive: Everything you’d expect in the idyllic Massachusetts town. Located across the street from the Emily Dickinson museum house with a short walk to town. Top notch host. Great bed and quiet tree & street view in the Napoleon Room. Bathroom is small but fitting. Good breakfast. Relaxed and historical comfort.
