Summary: Everyone was so pleasant! The breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt and some additional items were delicious. I enjoyed the social hour and took the opportunity to talk to a couple of people. Jose and another concierge made perfect recommendations for excursions.

Summary: Perfect location - not far by bike or cab to the beaches. Lots of sargassum on the beach when we went so we’re happy not to be staying by it. Close to town. Very safe area. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and big. Pool is great fun. Breakfast each day (included for us) was excellent. Would stay here again for sure. Cabs cost about $20/$25USD to beach or town but you ride a bike (free) or walk.

Summary: We recently stayed at Kimpton Aluna Tulum and while there were some positives, overall the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. The location was convenient - serving as a good mid point between the beach and Tulum Centro and an easy walk to restaurants and shops which we appreciated. The hotel offers complimentary bikes which were useful for getting around, although they were fairly basic and difficult to use. Staff were friendly on arrival, housekeeping was good, and the daily social hour with a different cocktail each day was a nice touch. Breakfast was also good, with a reasonable but small buffet selection and some dishes available to order. However, the rooms felt dark, dingy and poorly ventilated, with condensation and a noticeable damp smell. We initially had a ground-floor room and asked to move upstairs, which was slightly better. On the whole, the rooms (and hotel) felt tired and in need of a refurb. Amenities were fairly minimal – for example there were no tea or coffee making facilities or slippers, or a hand held shower head which we would usually expect at a hotel of this level. That said, reception provided us a kettle when we asked for one. Although it was nice to be in nature, we felt the grounds were much more overgrown and rustic than the photos suggest, which was the reason for the hotel feeling dark. The lower pool area was peaceful but could have used better maintenance as it was often covered in leaves and had some missing tiles. The swim-

Summary: Pros: The restaurant was the best part of this hotel. You can rent a free bike and go around the town for dinner Cons: the rooftop pool is a joke. Ground pool is in the shade and you can’t get sun. So, you need to bike 20 mins to the beach.
