Summary: Great hotel with excellent restaurant and staff. It’s about a 25 min walk to town along the coast, passing by Moai. Only addition would be screens in doors so you can leave them open at night for cooler air.

Summary: Altiplanco is a few kilometres from town, but walkable, taxis or hire cars are an easy option. We spent 4 days on the island and had no issues with the accommodation. The hotel is clean, with well cared for grounds and has an attentive staff. There are many poor reviews for this hotel online - which I believe to be unfair and incorrect. Expect internet access to be limited due to the isolation of the island.

Summary: Maybe it's unfair to give it a 4 star review, but I can't really give it 5. The property is fine, a little in need of paint and an update, but that may just be symptomatic of the island in general since everything needs to be imported. When our guide picked us up, he told me it was one of the nicer properties on the island. There is no air conditioning, but I think that is common. Some have said that the property is a little out of the center of town, which it is, but I liked that. It was a lovely walk down the coast passing Moais along the way, about 15 minutes. Some at the front desk speak better English than others, but my husband speaks Spanish so it was not a problem. The hotel tries to please. My room was missing a blowdryer, and when we told them, they immediately went and bought one for the room.

Summary: Great view, nice location, sunsets awesome. Cheap taxi to town or walk along shore for 20 minutes or so to restaurants. Very expensive for eating at the property. Limited wifi.
