Positive: It is in a nice location. Close to restaurants and coffee, but a little tucked away from the many tourists. The house is very spacious and comfy. We especially liked being able to cook in the kitchen and watch movies in the library. The garden was a great bonus.
Negative: Some of the electrical switches were tricky to figure out. A few of the smaller lamps in the library didn’t work.
Summary: If we return to Lake Tekapo, we would love to return to Aldourie Lodge!

Positive: This is a house that feels just like home. Being an old house, it’s filled with exquisite antiques and every detail of the decor has been thoughtfully arranged to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Every corner is charming, and the surrounding garden is filled with roses, making the entire place feel incredibly romantic. It’s a place our whole family truly loved and would definitely want to return to. Absolutely perfect! It’s just a few steps away from Lake Tekapo, and taking a walk by the lake every morning and evening is such a pleasure!

Positive: Aldourie Lodge is a magical place. From the location ( right by the lake and church), the garden, to the incredible attention to detail, this is one very special home away from home. They have thought of everything to make stay so comfortable. I couldn’t recommend this enough. We truly didn’t want to leave. Very responsive hosts. Thank you.
Negative: There was literally nothing to dislike about this property… I wish we could have stayed longer !!!
