Summary: We stayed three nights at Aldeia de Cuada in mid-October. The atmosphere and vibe of this restored old village is calm and exactly what we wanted. The valley surrounding the village is full of lush vegetation and waterfalls and was a great home base to visit Flores. For $10 Euros/morning you can start the day off with the best breakfast and go exploring. Their pool is heated, you can take old trails to surrounding villages and the must see Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro is right around the corner. We booked our time on Flores based on their available dates and are so glad we did.

Summary: Very good restaurant on site, there are not a lot on the island, especially during the off season. Within one hour walking distance to Faja Grande, Fajazinha or the falls at Ribeira Grande. About 25 minutes drive from the airport.

Summary: An unusual hotel consisting of small houses that constitute what was originally an abandoned village. It is a true delight, we had a well equipped kitchen (enjoy making our own breakfast) and a beautiful small private patio surrounded by flowers. The room was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant is the best on the west coast. The pool is a good size and wonderfully warm. A great base for exploring the island, when we return to Flores we will stay here again 100%
