1 Bedroom Cabin in Fairbanks

This property is off the grid and about 1/4 mile off the road. There is plenty of parking and the property is a short walk away. A 4-wheeler with a cargo trailer may be available at the cabin for hauling gear, ask the owner. Chena Hot Springs resort is 1/2 mile from the cabin parking lot, and can be accessed by car or foot on a scenic trail along Monument Creek. Please google Chena Hot Springs, Fairbanks, Alaska for further information on the resort.
There are two cabins on the property. The main one (12 X 20) is on the creek and has an 8 X 8 screened porch off the kitchen and has a gas grill, an 8 X 12 sleeping loft with a queen bed, and a queen futon couch in the living area. Cabin includes full kitchen with a pitcher pump. Please bring block ice for the ice box in the summer months., there is also a small propane refrigerator on the porch in the summer.
The cabin is heated with a wood stove ( plenty of fir e wood is provided), and a propane heater. There is also an outdoor fire pit by the creek. Bathroom facilities are a clean outhouse. Both cabins are wired for electricity and powered by two generators; the small one will run lights and chargers, and the big one will run anything else you might need.
.The guest cabin is 8 X 12 with propane heat and a 2-burner Coleman stove. The bed is a single that pulls out to a queen.
There are lots of trails in the area for hiking, skiing, 4-wheeling and snow machining. The Yukon Quest trail is 1/2 mile before the parking area and guests can walk on a trail parallel to the road. Fishing in the area is catch and release only. If you come in the winter you should have a 4wd equipped with an auto start as there are no plug ins.

Summary: My stay at this property was amazing. Beautiful cabin in the woods on a stream. 5 minute walk into the cabin from parking area, all the provisions provided in an off grid property to make it feel like home. Love that it was so close to the hot springs and pet friendly. Amazing communication with host, looking foward to staying again.

Summary: I chose this property because I wanted to be near the Hot Springs but not at it. I wanted seclusion but not total isolation. It was just the right distance for me to either walk or drive to the Resort and provided the perfect amount of privacy I wanted. Everything I needed was there. I visited during the Winter and it was great for me but maybe not for everyone- extreme temps and a bit of weather. Scott was fully available for all my questions and concerns- was very helpful and very kind. I would absolutely rent from him again. I had no cell service with Verizon, Sprint/T-Mobile so had to communicate from the Resort. I loved the rustic nature of this cabin and the environment, being surrounded by nature with no wifi/cell service was very grounding. I would say be prepared for the basics here. I hope to come back again! Thank you Scott for allowing me to stay in your cabin, I will never forget it and look forward to returning someday. A hui ho!

Summary: Great time relaxing and getting away from home for a bit. All the amenities were made accessible and convenient. Mosquitoes as always so bring your deet or bug net for walking between the parking lot and cabin. All in all, a good time.
