Positive: Fernando is the perfect host. We had reservations for one night and stayed on for two more. The room was immaculate in every way. The staff was wonderfully helpful and kind. We didn’t want for anything, including bottled water. Breakfast was delicious. Fernando insisted that we take the leftovers with us each morning and provided take away containers. We hiked the Fisherman’s trail. Access to the trailhead is great. Fernando kindly offered to come pick us up if we couldn’t make it all the way to our desired destination due to trail washouts. Odeceixe is a sweet little town with everything we needed for point to point hiking, including a laundromat.

Negative: We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Summary: I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

Positive: The breakfast was absolutely amazing and copious! Loved all the fruit and pastel de nata. You even get a doggy bag to take whatever you can't finish with you. So nice! Also a lot of drinks available and very clean. Centrally located.

Positive: The room exceeded my expectations- Fernando is clearly a traveler himself and the housekeeping service is that of a 4/5 star hotel. I was a hotel director for 15 years and could not believe I came back to my room being made up in the fashion it was- clothes folded + hanging EVERYTHING organized down to cords etc- all 4/5 star quality! My son was given a connecting room not just a rollaway bed, which a rollaway was my expectation. A lot of people talk about the breakfast it is amazing- as a family these were the extra things that made our 4 nights perfect. As we traveled Portugal in non- touristic areas, this was by far our most unexpected hotel choice! If staying in Odeciexe- this is the place to stay!
