Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ahoy has many positives however unfortunately there are also some negatives.The kitchen - despite being very well equipped with many gadgets and gizmos was not clean or well organised. We had to wash many things prior to using them and the cutlery draws had broken items and bits of food in them. In today's world this is really not ok. The fridge in the kitchen is quite small and the second fridge in the games room does not have a good door seal so you need to ensure the door closes properly. The dining table and outdoor setting are both huge and it's really lovely sitting out on the deck overlooking the ocean. There were only 2 bean bag lounges however - not 4 as shown in the main photo.The bedrooms had reasonably comfortable beds and were decorated nicely however in 2 of the bedrooms there was no natural light as the windows looked into an enclosed storeroom/shed.The location was very quiet however access to the beach is virtually impossible as there are no steps over an 8 foot, steep embankment. This property was on the cheaper side compared to others and I guess you get what you pay for.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are a small family with young grandchildren children and found the house to be very suitable for our needs. Some bad weather had us inside and the games room proved to be a wonderful indoors experience, fun and laughter. Beds are very comfortable, every kitchen item needed is there and bathrooms etc all good. Only thing we wanted to bathe the little ones in the bath below the shower (this was a decider when i was booking) but there is no plug to do this. I know it could be a hazard if water was left running but would be good to have as no other bath there. Thankyou for the firewood as it was cold and the fire was very welcome. Just a small suggestion, the folder of information is great however we were all over Google looking for things to do. Love to see some of the tourism brochures included, e.g. Harry Butler memorial, Edith the horse and wonderful museum at Edithburgh etc. We hope to be back again.

Reviewer Comments: Our family spent 3 nights in Ahoy at Port Turton. we haven't travelled as a family and stayed on Yorke Peninsula before, so we were very much interested in exploring all the different bays, townships and playgrounds we could. Ahoy is perfectly located on the Esplanade (quiet end of the cul-de-sac). Our stay was truly exceptional. The house was well equipped throughout, including the fire place which added to the ambiance on a cool night! The kids enjoyed the pool table and sailor hats - very cute seeing them embrace a little bit of the fishing town charm! the location of Ahoy was awesome, the kids loved the walking/cycling path which directly connected us to the nature playground and BMX bike track. The local Taven was within a short walk to Ahoy, which we enjoyed a meal overlooking the bay We spent the days exploring the bottom end of Yorkes all the way from berry bay - Marion bay - Innes - port Moorowie to Edithburgh. Our highlight were the rock pools at Gravel Bay. A must! We even duck over to Stansbury for a lovely dinner on the last night.
