Positive: Staying here was a truly unique experience. The hosts were very warm, friendly, and helpful. While the room was quite basic, expected for a guesthouse, the view from the balcony and being so close to nature and wildlife was very special. We loved it. The breakfast in the morning, was fresh, made-to-order, and very generous. The restaurant next door (only one on the island) provided our dinner, which was probably the tastiest, most authentic meal we had on our whole trip.

Negative: Would have been nice to have an electric kettle in the room for making morning coffee/tea

Positive: The location is fabulous, beautiful scenery and very quiet and peaceful - no traffic noise, just the sound of birds and cattle by day and frogs by night, The breakfast was delicious and the food in the restaurant across the road also very good. We were made to feel welcome at the guest house which is also a family home.

Negative: The rooms are basic and a little cramped but have large balconies with seating.

Positive: Location is so unusual and wonderful. Unbelievable mix of beautiful nature and historical monuments of the 10th century. Landscape is like from some fairytale. Lake is surrounded with water weeds and that gives it special beauty and natural charm. Hosts were very pleasant. Breakfast was very rich and absolutly delicious. Room was clean and cosy enough - anyway one doesn'go there to be in the room, but outdoors. In the local restaurant, we ate the tasties trout - grilled and dipped in some exquisite gravy. All other local inhabitans were very pleasant and friendly.

Negative: Although it is a fact that people go there to enjoy the silence, with sunset everything goes quiet and asleep. During autumn nights especially, one doesn't have a choice, except going to bed early - arround 7 o'clock pm local time. I think they should work on that -maybe establishing some café which would be open at least till 10 pm.

Positive: The location is magic. It is one of the most genuinely beautiful and interesting locations I have ever stayed in: from the birds (pelicans of course but the nightingales, reed warblers, herons, owls, hoopoe etc.) to the extraordinary frescoes in Agios Achillios and nearby churches and monasteries - it is simply a stunning area. Best of all no mass tourism, just people who really love nature, walking and churches. Our hosts at the hotel were wonderful people, thank you both of you, breakfasts amazing and the boat ride to see nesting pelicans and other birds was a treat. The restaurant opposite does great evening meals, let them know early. An extraordinary island - and place to stay.

Negative: Everything was great - and anyway, if it hadn't been I would have mentioned it, and I know our hosts would have helped to put it right.
