3 Bedroom Cabin in Balsam Lake, Milltown

A quick 1.5 hr beautiful drive close to the Twin Cities and there you have it the 'up north feel'. Balsam Lake is a premier lake that has plenty to offer. The lake is 1901 acres of great fishing, several islands, public beach perfect for a summer get away. Boat to one of many restaurants on the lake and easy access the marina. This lake makes it relaxing with all it has to offer.
Cozy up to the bonfire overlooking the lake and listen to the wildlife sing. We enjoy looking at the lake at all hours, and every time we capture something different. We love the lake so much we wanted another place in a perfect location in little Balsam. This portion of the lake has a calm small lake feel with all the amenities of the big lake. The babbling brook you can hear as you lay your head down at night. Perfect breeze hits you on all sides, the smell of summer is in the air.
It is roughly 800 sq ft with updated amenities. We have updated everything to make the stay extra easy. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 bath. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need. It is a great space for entertaining your family. I am all about comfort when I step a foot at the lake.
You can rent our boat for an additional fee. There is so much I could keep adding with the perks, but I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

Summary: What a beautiful spot to enjoy some time on Balsam Lake. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the deck, afternoons on the water and evenings watching the sunset. The cabin is charming, spotless and stocked with everything needed. Melissa provided us with all the information we needed to make the most of our stay and was readily available to answer any questions. Thank you for sharing this little piece of paradise with us!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It sits on a very quiet and peaceful section of the lake. We appreciated the responsiveness of the host, being able to rent the nice pontoon boat, and the availability of a fishing rod. Being late in the season, the lake front was quite weedy so swimming near the dock was a no-go. There are no personal water crafts/floatation devices available, so make sure to bring your own. It is a pretty tight living quarters, so fine for our family of four, but I wouldn’t want to bring a party larger that that. Overall, a nice and relaxing cabin stay!

Summary: This cottage is about perfect! It's an obtrusive monstrosity on the lake. It was the perfect size for our family of 5 and could fit 8 very comfortably. It was very clean and had all necessities and then some. Walk out the door and 10 steps to the water is amazing. The communication with the owner was fantastic and description was 100% accurate. Thanks for a great week...at the last minute!!

Summary: This small cabin was very close and convenient to my family, who lived next door. It had a beautiful view of the lake through the picture window and a nice walk out to the lake. It was very comfortable, cozy and inviting. The air condition in the two main bedrooms was an asset, along with the cart to haul your items to the cabin. What I really liked best was Melissa, the Host. She was excellent at communicating with me. We had a storm one night we were there and she text me to see how we were doing and if we had any problems with our power. We will definitely be returning.

Summary: Check in process was really easy. Renters need to be aware that there is a walk to the cabin on a dirt/gravel trail. Owner does provide a wagon for your items so you do not have to carry them although the hill does get steep and the wagon picks up a lot of speed. The property is really close to the lake and has a grill(charcoal) and a portable fire pit which is really nice at night. Bring your own firewood as none is provided. Lake is really nice for swimming and boating. Shoreline is great for young children as it starts off shallow with minimal weeds. The owner was super considerate of us bringing my sisters dog and even provided a dog outdoor lead so her dog would stay on the property. House is small although decorated very nice. Furniture and household items were very nice and not junky at all. Be aware that this house only has window A/C units so the top/main floor gets very warm during the day since there are no window treatments and the sun shines in the beautiful windows all day. The basement area stays as cold as you would like. One night my son and myself had to sleep on the pull out couch as the upstairs was too hot. This unit has very small doors on the upper floor and not made for larger people. The bathroom door did not shut all the way also. The shower is just a stand up shower which is smaller than average although the shower head is nice and high so tall people should not have a problem showering. There was a few items that needed attention as I was on crutches and the railing going outside and inside going down the stairs was coming unhinged and off the wall making it difficult for me to go up and down. Also going down the stairs you need to duck or you will hit your head. There is no washer/dryer In the Unit so that was a bummer and there is no dishwasher. We rented the pontoon one day and had to drive to her other property to pick up the boat which cost us time. It would have been great customer service if the boat would have already been there or if she would have delivered it to us. All in all it was a great vacation and we appreciate her allowing us to bring our dog. Some items that would have been nice were more towels, toiletries, wash cloths, firewood and a better welcome booklet. The town has so many great restaurants and shops that could have been added to their welcome booklet, also this is the first place I have stayed were we did not get a little welcome gift.
