Positive: We experienced exceptional hospitality from both generations of the family who own the hotel. They were incredibly kind, always checking in to see if we needed anything, and eager to offer directions and recommendations for places to visit. The location is fantastic — the hotel sits right by the river, near the rafting area, and is only 30 minutes to an hour’s drive from many major attractions. There’s a tavern and a café right below the hotel, which is especially convenient for families with young children. I highly recommend Acherontas Hotel for families and anyone looking to explore the region with minimal driving. A heartfelt thank you to Acherontas Hotel for the wonderful hospitality!

Positive: This was the best breakfast we had during our week in mainland Greece. No kidding - there were about 9 different breakfast items piled on our table including three different types of pie, croissants, juice, cake, yoghurt, fruit and omelette as well as any type of coffee on demand. The bedroom was a good size with a balcony overlooking the car park and scrupulously clean The location is just fabulous and dining at the riverside was a real pleasure.

Negative: First impressions count and when we arrived we were surprised that the car park was strewn with litter. It would take so little time to fix it but no-one seemed to notice. There is no signage and no reception so we had to grab a random and say that we were guests staying at the place. Little English is spoken but what appeared to be a manager was called and was able to communicate with me in German. After he told me that the place was full I was able to explain that I was partly responsible for that state of affairs by showing him my booking.com confirmation.

Positive: The location of the rooms is one of a kind. It feels amazing to be so close to Acherontas river,and be able to have breakfast or dine right next to crystal clear running water. The staff were all really welcoming and helpful, especially Georgia who really went out of her way to accommodate all our needs. Really polite and friendly all of the People we met, quiet and peaceful area , amazing food, good prices.

Negative: The studio was quite big and had a large balcony but felt especially hot and was impossible to sleep without air conditioning on.

Summary: A wonderful and memorable holiday experience for the Family

Positive: Incredibly friendly staff, fresh made breakfast (instead of typical stale buffet), location was perfect, easy parking, very quiet location, very clean everywhere throughout, great shower, great AC, our dog was very happy - perfect view of the river.
