Positive: Location and general landscape of property was lovely, liked having 2 bedroom suite with well equipped kitchen, good shower, meal first night was good. Comfy bed.

Negative: On our second night the server messed up our order and brought 2 hamburgers rather than the lamb burgers we ordered and were looking forward to with a mint jam. They were overcooked and did not taste great. Server did not come back to check on us (and my brother tried to convince me they were what we ordered) so I ate some of it reluctantly. By the time we got attention of a server half the family had finished their food and I had filled up on french fries but the mistake was very disappointing. The server was apologetic and brought us desserts that he paid for (which made us feel really guilty so sort of ruined the evening - either he should not have told us that or the hotel should have comped some of the food). Second I found a pair of used underwear in the corner of my bedroom which was really offputting. The cleaners need to do a better job (I did report this at checkout) Finally, it was cold our first evening so we put the heater on. It was so noisy we couldn't talk to each other in the living room or hear the TV when we tried to use it. The heating/cooling needs some sort of upgrade I think.

Positive: It was a nice sized room that easily fit a king sized bed, dresser, wardrobe, sofa, table and chairs. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bed was soft. The room had ac and tv. It had a nice front patio that overlooked the area where horses graze. Beautiful views of the mountains right outside my room. Parking right next to my room. The property has its own cafe which was conveniently located right near the entrance. The food was great and decent wines. The staff are very helpful. They offered great advice on sites to see and restaurants to go to.

Negative: The only small thing I’ll say here is that there were a couple of tiny spiders I had to deal with in the bathroom. But the property is in the middle of the mountains, pretty remote, so a couple of small bugs are not that unusual. They stayed in their corners and it didn’t bother me much. That’s the only thing I can think of that I didn’t like but again small thing for me

Negative: Inside the room, old A/C very noisy. POOR QUALITY mattress very soft, needs replacing.Very slow dinner service at the cafe. Locks are sticky and hard to open.

Positive: Quintessential Southwest experience. Authentic and innovative local food served in a beautiful river bosque and sculpture garden under a high canopy of old cottonwood trees. The classical guitar music complimented the evening. The room had Saltillo tiles, kiva fireplace, Georgia O’Keefe prints and opened on an interior patio with a water feature. The internet was adequate and the TV was not turned on, replaced with a stroll in the sculpture garden and peaches from scattered trees.

Positive: The location in Abiquiu is amazing, as it shares a parking lot with the Georgia O'Keefe Welcome Center. The grounds are truly lovely, although the buildings with rooms are spread out.

Negative: Both my room and my sister's room had water leakage from a moderate rain overnight. Ugh. My sister woke well before dawn listening to dripping. I stepped in water, which reappeared even after staff mopped it up - there was a lot. They need a new roof. The worst part is that it's happened before, a lot, as evidenced by a crack near the fireplace, 2 water damaged books, and the window cracked to help with any mold smell or growth. Staff didn't seem to care.

Summary: Not worth the money, but there's no place else in Abiquiu to stay
