Summary: Clean rooms, perfect for our one night stay. Bed a bit hard. Breakfast great. Staff helpful.

Summary: Staff are very friendly and obliging, my only issue was the lack of food choices for breakfast and also on the bar menu ,otherwise was very good value for the price.

Summary: I was very disappointed with this 4 star hotel. The smell was very musty, Paint was chipped and stains on ceiling, Chipped tile in the pool and i cut open my toe open, when i told the staff at reception all they said was 'where in the pool, thanks'. The restaurant, 2 burgers, 1 pizza and 1 kids meal took just over 40 minutes. At breakfast the beans were cold, eggs really overcooked, mushrooms almost raw etc. 3 towels in a room for 4 people. At check in there was a trainee who couldnt check us in. Had to wait for someone else. Were sent to the wrong floor for our room. At 10:30 on the morning of check out, staff member tried to enter as she though we had checked out. Check out was 12. All small things but everything added up to make this hotel a place i would never visit again and never recommend to anyone.

Summary: Lovely stop over/overnight stay. All staff were lovely, bar area great and food (including breakfast) excellent. Excellent value for money.

Summary: We stayed at The Abbey hotel and enjoyed our visit. The food was excellent and the room comfy. The one downside was that there were no EV chargers. I had looked online and I was told that there were. So it was a big disappointment to hear that there were none. Luckily I found somewhere to charge the car.

Summary: We stayed only one night in a regular room and had a mixed experience. We booked the Abbey Hotel as a treat after a long drive, only to discover that hotel hadn’t bothered to update the opening hours for the pool on Expedia. Although the manager on duty went out of his way and kept the pool open just for us, this was representative for our mixed experience. Our room was fine, although a bit dated, especially the bathroom. It was on the main floor, and going back and forth to our room meant walking past dirty dishes and empty glasses and almost bumping into startled waitstaff rushing out of the kitchen to the dining room along the way. Not exactly a welcoming feeling. The grey exterior of the hotel in reality looks less like that of a castle and more like the owners are saving on a much needed paint job. Finally, given the fancy dining room and mention of award winning dining (we arrived too late to eat there), the breakfast was underwhelming. Few options, black pudding was very dry, coffee only lukewarm warm etc. and staff disinterested.
