Positive: Abas Villas – An Absolute Gem This is an absolute gem of a find. I am so grateful to have found this place. The villa itself was exceptional — incredibly stylish, modern and beautifully designed. Everything felt brand new and thoughtfully put together. There was a lovely pool, fantastic air conditioning, two bathrooms and a beautiful glass balcony overlooking the sea. There is also an extra terrace at the top with sun loungers, which is wonderfully peaceful. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. There was lots of lovely soft lighting throughout the villa, both bedrooms were large, and the beds were super comfortable. The incredible sea view makes it even more special. There are so many thoughtful touches too. The villa is supplied with high-end toiletries and beach towels, and it is cleaned every three days. On arrival, there was a lovely Cretan welcome pack with olives, dakos, cheese and raki — such a wonderful introduction to the local hospitality. Voula, the villa owner, is the most incredible woman. She is so kind and welcoming. She brings you fresh fruit, homemade cake and pastries, and during my stay she became a dear friend. She will also help you arrange boat trips and anything else you might need. Make sure you go down to the beach, where you get two free drinks and a free sunbed if you are staying at Abas Villas. The Greek hospitality is never-ending. This is a very, very special place. As you enter the villa, it says “Where Earth Meets Spirit”, and that really captures it. This is somewhere you can completely relax, recharge and get away from everything. The little village is beautiful and peaceful, and if you are looking for somewhere authentic and away from busy tourist resorts, this is the place. The sea and beaches are great to swim in . There is 3 tavernas , the south bar for coffee and cocktails and my favourite cafe Vagelis. Where you can have a beer for 3 euros and free snacks and meet the parrot.
