High-end, fully furnished, beautiful contemporary home on a private, four-acre, wooded estate next to Butternut Mountain. An open, three-level floorplan, tons of natural light throughout, hardwood floors throughout, fully accessorized professional and newly updated gourmet kitchen, two sinks, and top of the line appliances. Home also features double faced wood burning fireplace, large deck off the breakfast room, another deck with fire pit, brick patio off den. Huge master with California King Bed, vaulted ceiling and walk through closet to tumbled marble master bath with amazing forest view, large tub and large walk-in shower. Master and second bedroom on top floor, queen bed in second bedroom with separate bathroom. Large bedrooms on the first level (queen bed and set of twin beds) with French doors leading to courtyard. Large windows throughout the house bring in light and offer unbelievable, serene forest views with a brook that runs through the property. Property includes a new 8 person Jacuzzi. Summary: This house is a gem, in a gorgeous private woodland setting, while only 7 minutes from Great Barrington. Outdoor spaces where guests can sit quietly, play games, take a hot tub or grill dinner, extend the living space into nature. The house is filled with unique architectural details and art that brings beauty and inspires joy. The layout is unique with 2 master bedrooms on the second floor and 2 bedrooms on the above ground basement level, lending privacy to all. The professional kitchen is a chef's dream. Summary: We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home for our holiday get together. Photos do not do this home justice and it is truly exceptional. Large roomy bedrooms, huge windows that invite the outside in and beautiful, unique artwork that round out the decor. The two living rooms have large soft furniture that is great for gathering and the massive kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The master bedroom suite is a wing in itself. The backyard with lovely stone fire pit and hot tub back up to a wooded view. It's true that this house is expensive but if you are looking for something special, this is it.

Summary: My girlfriends and I get together once a year, and we all love to cook and hang out and catch up. This house is so tasteful and comfortable, and spacious, we all felt very much at home - we barely left the house over the weekend to explore the surrounding area, the view was so pretty of the forest. We enjoyed sharing recipes and cooking in the big beautiful kitchen, and relaxing by the fire. This house exceeded expectations, and the owner and local liaison were more than available and helpful throughout the whole booking process and the stay. They even sent me back my fancy face cream I mistakenly left in the master bathroom. Highly highly recommend.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this home for the ski season. The home had everything we needed from linens and towels to a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of plates and cookware. The home was plenty big and provided ample room for our family and guests when we needed it. The homeowners were fully accessible and so helpful for any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again and plan to do so!

Summary: We enjoyed a wonderful extended stay at 8 Butternut Lane in July 2018. The house is architecturally interesting, spacious and beautifully decorated, with an amazingly well-stocked kitchen and everything you need for a picnic at Tanglewood. Margaret is a great and very responsive host. The location is perfect: very quiet and peaceful, but only 10 minutes from heart of Great Barrington, about 25 minutes to Tanglewood and short drives to great hikes and the many other attractions/excellent restaurants. We loved having meals on the deck, sitting around the firepit at night, etc. All in all, a memorable stay.

Summary: We stayed for a week for skiing at Butternut with young kids. The house was perfect, spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated, amazing modern open kitchen, hot tub, crib, only minutes from the slopes and town. The owner is very helpful and organized and the process is extremely easy. Given the house has 3 floors with 2 bedrooms upstairs, main rooms and kitchen on main floor and 2 bedrooms on lower level it is very convenient for 2 families. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

Summary: We are a multi-generational family spread across the globe that gathers periodically for quality time together. We were looking for a cosy, comfortable and gracious house that feels like a home. Margaret's is exactly that and more. Not only is Margaret incredibly helpful, welcoming and accommodating, the house is exactly as described and then some. We love to cook and wind up spending more time in the kitchen than any other room. The kitchen is fully equipped with top-end appliances right down to the little niceties you didn't know you even needed. The round dining table was perfect for accommodating 8 easily and 10 in a pinch. We wound up playing board games at the table for hours on end when we were snowed in. So incredibly lovely! The house is such perfection I'm loath to write such a glowing review for fear we won't be able to reserve it when next we have the opportunity to gather. If I could move in to Margaret's today, I would!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in this spacious and clean and artistic home. It was easy to rent and easy to deal with owner and a property "overseer". The house has an open feel so you can cook in the kitchen while others sit by the fire. There are four bedrooms, but it is set up in a great way for two families to share (or for kids to get their own space) as two bedrooms are on the bottom floor of three floors and two others on the top floor, and kitchen, living space are in the middle. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are airy and spacious. The showers and baths are great. Plenty of closet space and the house has everything you need and is easily accessible for a hassle free stay. Very close to Butternut (under 2 minute drive), close to Great Barrington (maybe 7 minutes) and Stockbridge. And so it is in an extremely convenient location. The house and area are extremely quiet but does not feel isolated. Just a minute up the road is an entrance to part of the Appalachian trail with a beautiful hiking section if you turn right up the hill and go for an hour. There is a lot of eclectic art and figures around this interesting house (be careful if you have kids who want to throw balls indoors but everything is displayed out of the way) . Heating and cooling is all up to date and simple. The woods behind the house are beautiful and there is an area for grilling and sitting. All in all, we could not have been more comfortable and we loved our Berkshires week.
