Casa Lesina, a traditional Ligurian country house located in Castellaro, is in an enviable mid-hill position, overlooking the Val Fontanabuona from where it dominates the valley, immersed in the green of the surrounding woods rich in local fauna and flora and surrounded by vegetable gardens, olive groves and orchards.
Comfortable and silent, it can be reached by a comfortable asphalted municipal road just 2 km away from the hamlet of Calvari below, where there are shops, banks, post office, restaurants and pizzerias.
The apartment is located on the top floor of the house and can accommodate 4/6 people. We rent for minimum stays of 7 days; for a number of guests less than 4 and for periods of less than one week of stay we reserve the confirmation of availability (see section Rates & Availability / Notes).
The rooms are two, both with double bed, large and bright and a sofa bed is available for two other guests.
Lots of equipped outdoor space, all around the house.
The kitchen is large and equipped,
The bathroom has a shower and washing machine, a large table, television and comfortable sofa in the dining / living room.

It is an excellent base for various excursions: 15 km from the most beautiful beaches of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante and close to the splendid seaside towns of Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Camogli, Sestri Levante and the magnificent 5 Terre.
Genoa provincial capital, can be easily reached both by car and by bus.
Paths start from Casa Lesina to Mount Ramaceto, the Aveto Park, the Agoraie Nature Reserve and connect to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
For walkers there are trekking possibilities for all needs as well as for mountain bike cyclists who can choose between routes of varying difficulty on the paths of the hills and the easier route of the "Ardesia Cycle Route" which unfolds flat along the banks of the Lavagna stream, crossing the pleasant villages of the Val Fontanabuona, up to the mouth of the Entella in the center of the Gulf of Tigullio, between the renowned towns of Chiavari and Lavagna.
In addition, in the nearby Calvari airfield it is possible to practice paragliding, hang gliding and other light aircraft.
In the surrounding municipalities there are small but interesting museums on culture, peasant craftsmanship and local archeology, we mention a few:
Archaeological Museum of Fontanabuona - at the seat of the municipality of Cicagna;
Peasant Museum in Calvari;
Damascus and history of the territory museum in Lorsica;
"Casa Giannini" Emigrant Museum in Favale di Malvaro;
Musel - Integrated museum system of Sestri Levante and Castiglione Chiavarese, two exhibition centers, designed to offer the visitor a rich and articulated narration of the history of the Tigullio territory and the Sestri Levante valleys.

Summary: Perfect place - the house was beautiful and very clean. The owner is very friendly and open minded and very helpful for planning of local trips. Driving the road to the house might be a little bit challenging when driving a big car. Overall a great time in great place.

Summary: Thank you! We and our three kids (3, 6, 8) had the nicest holiday one can think of. We lived in a beautiful and cozy home, were surrounded by great nature, experienced wonderful hikes and spent a relaxing time at the beach. Summary: We had a wonderful two weeks at Stefano's house. The house is located at the end of a small mountain village and surrounded by gorgeous nature. Perfect for hiking or If you have dogs (like us). Sofia and Stefano are lovely hosts and provided with us with great tips for trips and restaurants. The flat is large, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need. Day trips to Genova, Portofino, Cinque Terre, etc. are easily manageable. In a nutshell: just the perfect holiday location.

Summary: There are already enough positive reviews about this beautiful house and the generosity of its hosts. I can only endorse them. The only thing I'd like to add is that if you decide to go, bring over a book of Francesco Biamonti. It will help you to better see (and enjoy) the constant change of light in the mountains of Liguria and that of the sea.

Summary: Good starting location for day trips to beaches, Cinque Terre, Portofino, san Fruttuoso, Genua... not perfect because each of these trips take about 30-60 minutes drive. Place is very quiet in the hills, rooms well ventilated. The owner, Stefano, is a very friendly and helpful guy.

Summary: The location is embedded in a beautiful valley on the top of a hill. The apartment is very well organized with a lot of helpful stuff and we could enjoy the historical stove in the kitchen to heat in the morning or evening, it gave the situation a slight touch to stay in a past time period. The internet connection is working very well in the apartment so there is no lack of anything. For relaxing is this place great and to stay in Liguria. It's a very good place to hick and to find spurs of animals that you never expected before. The landlord is kindful and very nice and he made us big gifts of food as we arrived the place so that we could come down after our journey. If you have any question Stefano finds answers or a solution for all kind of situations. We could enjoy a lot of interest talks with him and he speaks very well English and has lots of ideas and information for short trips in the area. To buy food is not a problem in the village next is a supermarket in a very good bakery and if you want to visit food markets you can find them in the next bigger village with lots of nice shops. Summary: Staying at Stefano's place was the best part of our Italy trip. We have never stayed in such a unique and lovely apartment with such a kind and generous landlord. He supplied us with delicious vegetables and fruit from his own garden, and it was always lovely to chat with him when he was there. We felt very welcome! The apartment itself offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The 70s style kitchen was the place to meet and eat and feel comfortable. The bedroom (we only used one of the two) has beautiful antique furniture and an even more beautiful view of the mountains. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay as base for day trips to the beautiful surrounds (Sestri Levante, Portofino, Cinque Terre etc.) this is the perfect choice. We've already made plans to stay at Stefano's for our whole summer vacation next year. I think that says it all :)
