This beautiful five bedroom family-owned lakehouse has 300 ft. water frontage and full privacy. Perfect for a family getaway or romantic couples weekend.
Located only 1:30 mins from Toronto and a 20 minute drive to Peterborough. Clean, private and quiet. Stunning views of the river from the lakehouse and deck. Dock available May-October with closest marina 5 minutes away by boat. 2 kayaks included. There are three bathrooms-1 full bath and one with shower. Comfortably sleeps 8 adults and 2 children.
Full water front property with spectacular views morning, noon and night. Full kitchen, living room and finished basement. The basement is a full games room with pool table, dartboard, mini-fridge and wet bar with walk out.
Conveniently connected to Rice lake- only 10 minutes by boat. This charming, cozy, rustic, pet- friendly lakehouse is open all year round so you can enjoy the great outdoors during all 4 seasons.
Property features: outdoor fire pit, indoor wood fireplace, complimentary wifi, propane filled BBQ, Muskoka chairs, dining room table that seats 10, outdoor dining table, full outdoor living room. The master bedroom loft has its own fully sheltered balcony that overlooks the river. The living room, kitchen and dining area are open concept.
Boat launch is conveniently located nearby and area is also ideal for fishing and snowmobiling.
*PLEASE NOTE: There is a 3 night minimum stay during the off-season months (January, February, March, April, May, October, November and December) and 6 night minimum stay during high season (June, July, August and September).
During June, July, August and September check in is Saturday at 3pm and check out it Friday at 11AM giving you a 6 night stay.

Summary: Our recent stay at Lori’s beautiful, homey cottage was absolutely perfect. The cottage was cozy and charming, with stunning views of the water right from the porch. The sunsets were breathtaking! The interior was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Summary: Property is as described, with a well stocked kitchen. Great spot for multi-generation visit. River is busy, especially on the weekends, but still worked well for us. Owners were very responsive and helpful. Had a great time, definitely recommend.

Summary: My group and I, including our two pups, had a wonderful time staying at the Bonnie Dune cottage. The property was beautiful and very well taken care of. The cottage was very spacious, accommodating and charming with loads of character. The river front was beautiful and the water was very refreshing during the warm summer days. The walk in shore access was perfect for our water-loving dogs, and the dock was perfect for lounging during the day. The games room was great for playing some pool and darts while listening to music in the provided Sonos speaker system. We also enjoyed some great meals together on the front deck, with access to a great barbecue. All the bedrooms were great and especially the loft upstairs. With the provided AC and wifi, we had all the comforts of home combined with the beauty of a lake house cottage. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t recommend this property enough if you’re looking for a fantastic getaway that’s only a short drive from the GTA. The owner was very responsive and lovely to deal with.

Summary: Very large cottage. Nice lake to swim in. Kids swam off the dock each day Bonfires each night. Close to a free lovely petting zoo and a gorgeous sandbeach close by. Kayaks and canoe and wood provided. And of course all loved the 8 person hot tub and ice machine. Boys played lots of pool. Parents enjoyed the view from the veranda. Lady who owns it communicated very well. All in all A+

Summary: My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Bonnie Doon! We had a family of 4 with two grown children, a family of 5 with children between the ages of 3 and 11, and a father in law. We fit well into all the comfy beds. Only inconvenience was the limited bathroom space, but we were aware of that before we arrived. The house was clean, well equipped (we hosted a BBQ for 13!) and exceptionally homey! The only minor drawback we had was limited cell phone service. The outdoors area is absolutely impeccable, beautiful dock, well maintained yard and landscaping, clean fire pit and well kept balconies, lighting and bbq. The hot tub is modern and clean. The area is so quiet and peaceful you just want to sit on the deck all day long! I highly recommend booking this property early (if you have a chance)! There is a very good reason it is consistently sold out!

Summary: Lori was very easy to communicate with and the whole process was stress free. The cottage is amazing and was a great size for us (4 adults, 4 kids, and 2 dogs). The kids loved the pool table and dart board, the beds were very comfortable, and the Air conditioning was a big plus! Keep in mind that this cottage is beside the river and we found the current of the river varied day to day. Have to keep an eye on the small kids when the current is stronger. At times there was a lot of boat traffic that caused waves, but the water was warm and deep a few feet away from the dock and seaweed wasn't an issue (a few feet away from the dock). Everyone had a blast in the water. The provided kayaks and canoes (and life jackets) were great however there wasn't an easy way to put in and take out the kayaks or for our larger dog to get out of the water. The perimeter of the backyard by the water has a small chicken wire fence. Lori and Phil have the cottage well stocked with many great amenities and the view of the river from the cottage is amazing. Going to get groceries was a quick 15-20 min drive. Highly recommend One Fine Foods in Peterborough if you wanted a have a dinner out. Overall a great experience and week stay!!

Summary: Amazing week vacation! This property is absolutely beautiful, exactly how it is advertised on the listing. We were a family of 5 + 1 infant and it was perfect. We were looking for a nice quiet and peaceful week off, which is exactly what this property delivers. The cottage itself was warm, clean, and very comfortable overall. Awesome games room for some pool and darts. The river front property was amazing - great for making a fire, swimming, kayaking and relaxing on the dock. Lori and Phil were great - extremely responsive and were always there to answer questions or advise on items we were unsure about. I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet getaway!
