Positive: Cute cottage in a lively location - near a great pub and coffee shop. Walking distance to the town centre (30 mins).

Negative: Overall not very clean - bin was dirty and rug in the front room was not clean. Kitchen was very basic - had a dishwasher but no tablets for it. There was washing up liquid though. I’ve stayed in much better through other sites, which provided basic food items in the kitchen and basic bathroom items. Overall, poor value for money.

Positive: Lovely little house located in a nice neighbourhood, close to a large park and with easy access to the town centre (30 mins on foot, 5 mins by bus). It's equipped with all basics needed, lovingly decorated.

Negative: Two minuses: 1) the bathroom - the room is (very) small and doesn't allow for a full-size bath; a shower would provide more space to move around and better access to the window. 2) cleanliness - it all looks okay at first glance but the floors seemed not to have been hoovered, surfaces were dusty and dishes/cutlery needed to be washed before use; basically, we felt that the house may have been cleaned a long time ago but an additional cleaning was not done before our arrival. We've tried to use the hoover but were put off by the dirty tips and the smell coming out, likely due to unclean filter and unchanged bag. We've used it anyway to remove the hair that wasn't us in the bath and on the bathroom floor.

Positive: Its close proximmity to friends at Bermaside House. It was OK for a 3-night stay. The heating system is fine and no complaints on that score. Cooking facilities are just about sufficient. Good double glazing and a secure property and not much that one can do to improve the constriaints.

Negative: The bedrooms are tight for space and the double bed is difficult to access close to the wall. The bed linen was clean, but seemed to have a magnetic attractin to nightwear. Arriving late at the property, we had expected at least a few tea bags or coffee to make a drink - something to welcome us in - but no such provisions! A very steep cobbled access, not passable by car and a distance to carry luggage, with the car abandoned on waste ground at the top of the 'drive' 80 metres from the front door. A fairly steep staircase needs care.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay and for those wanting a 'bijou' experience and a good workout it's ideal!

Positive: The cottage was quaint and well decorated and the bed was comfortable.

Negative: There were no bins upstairs. As a female there should have been at least one in the bathroom and ideally in each bedroom. There was a slightly damp smell. The parking situation isn't good. I was ubable to park outside the property as the road is narrow. I could sometimes park in the coutyard at the top. One day there was nowhere to park and everywhere on street is either pay and display (meaning I'd have to go out regularly to pay) or was permit holders only. In the end I had to leave the car at my mum's and get a lift to the cottage and back again the following day which was inconvenient and kinda defeated the purpose of getting a car and somewhere to stay outside of the town centre. The most stressful part was the lack of clear direction about how to find the property. I arrived at 1am and the sat nav took me to Pulmans Yard which is very close by but there is no through access with a car. It was pitch black. Fortunately I could see a neighbour was up and he told me how to access the property. I had stuff to unload so drove the car down only to find there was nowhere to park. Getting the car back out again was extremely difficult due to the narrow road and lack of lighting. By day the property is very welcoming. As a single female, approaching at night when unable to park close by was quite unsettling. Also, I did email to tell you but when I hung the towel on the towel holder one of the fixings came off. I tried to secure it but I couldn't so I left the fixings in the soap dish. For me, the difficulty accessing the property and not being able to easily get near to load and unload in the dark means I most likely wouldn't stay here again. Perhaps a light at the top of the road down might have made it feel a bit more welcoming.

Summary: Comfortable but unlikely to stay again.
