A great villa suitable for a family holiday. The accommodation comfortably sleeps 8 people and comprises an open plan living area with dining area and substantial well-stocked kitchen. There are 3 double bedrooms upstairs together with a large bathroom. There is a further downstairs double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite facilities. There is also a separate toilet downstairs. The beds can be configured to your requirements. The villa has its own pool and large garden with fruit trees, garden furniture and barbecue. Situated directly on the Aude river, a fishing licence is available from the local Mairie.
Quillan is an easy 5 minutes walk away with shops, bars, weekly markets and 20 or so restaurants. It is easily accessible along a well lit path ideal for an evening out with a short stroll home. Beautiful mountains within a 30 minute drive and the ancient city of Carcassonne is just 45 minutes drive or a €1 train ride away. Beautiful coastal beaches within an hours drive. Canoeing, kayaking, horse-riding are all available within walking distance.
Separate dining area comprises of table and chairs for 8 people and lounge area includes digital TV and wireless internet. The villa benefits from under floor heating and a substantial wood burner. There are all new appliances including a dishwasher, fridge freezer and a washing machine in the separate utility room. There are also 2 bikes available in the garage. Summary: We loved this property and had a great holiday in Quillan. We are a family group ranging from 10 years old to 73 . the only drawback (unavoidable!) was the heat . however we coped pretty well with this and the children never complained . They spent most of their time in the pool and at the St. Bertrand lake with the inflatables. The value for money is excellent!!

Summary: The photos of Julie’s house really don’t do it justice, as soon as we arrived we were amazed by the house. The surrounding area is lovely, nice and peaceful with just a 5-10min walk into the town. The house was spotless and much better than we could have ever imagined. It is a good size, nicely decorated and lovely and light. We enjoyed going in the pool most days to cool down and the parasol created enough shade for our children to sit out in the garden. The rooms are all good sized and the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and we especially liked the coffee machine to have a nice coffee with fresh pastries every morning. Quillan is a lovely little town, nice restaurants, bakery, shops, butcher and a lovely little micro brewery. One of our favourite things to do was walk or get the bus up to the park at the far end of the town to swim in the lake and let the children play on the playground. We were amazed at how underused the park was as some days we had the whole place to ourselves! There are lots of nice walks to do round the town and up into the mountains and we even managed to get our double buggy up a track to the top of the mountains overlooking the town which made for lovely views. We had a few trips out during our stay, once to Carcassonne which was lovely and once to the dinosaur museum a couple of stops away on the bus which was very nice. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely recommend Julie’s house to friends. Thanks for a lovely holiday! David, Isabelle and family

Summary: The house is situated up a lane from the town Turn left easy walk into town that is always open !!! Turn right for Dog walking Greenspace and river Loads to explore around area then come back to this lovely house Everything you need in the house plenty big enough for everyone Everything works really well which is always a bonus The garden is huge plenty of sun and shade at different times of day The pool is great big enough and great for kids and has a alarm The lady next door looks after everything but she does not bother you unless you need her ,very friendly Stayed in many houses through France over the years been to all the usual spots First time this far ,don’t be put off by the drive we did over a couple of days and the drive was great on the motorways no problems at all We will return to the Pyrenees again Don’t waste time book this house you won’t be disappointed Thankyou Julie what a gem you have

Summary: We have just returned from a weeks' stay at this fabulous villa. This was our first visit to France and everything was beyond our expectations. If you think you've forgotten anything don't worry because you can be sure to find it in this very well equipped villa. You can walk or cycle or just chill in very comfortable surroundings. The pool is a real bonus. We didn't hire a car but this didn't prevent us from getting our and about. Limous and Carcassonne are easily accessible using the bus/train service from Quillan. Thanks to Julie and Phil for the use of your lovely villa !

Summary: We recently stayed at this wonderful house in Quillan - we were 4 adults and 3 children. The house is perfect for our size of party and is very well equipped. The kids (and adults!) loved the pool, which is of a constant relatively shallow depth - perfect for kids. The smallest was a 5 year old that could just about stand in the pool with her head clear of the water, which was much better than having deeper water for the weaker / non-swimmers. The town is typical of the region, and has all the essentials (such a supermarket and restaurants, etc.). Within a short drive you have castles, lakes and stunning scenery. Its about a 20 minute walk from the house to the town, although the supermarket needs a trip by car. We didn't have the opportunity to use the bikes to explore further (since they were not available at the house) but all in all a wonderful week! Recommended!

Summary: Julie's amazing Villla in Quillan is a joy to behold. It provided us with a luxurious base from which to explore this stunning part of France. The villa is finished to a high standard throughout and is fully equipped so as to provide all home comforts. The gardens are extensive and provide an array of comfortable seating with picturesque scenery - perfect for reading or writing in peace. The location is ideal, being a few hundred meters from the town yet being hidden away down a quiet lane. The pool is deep enough for adults but also suitable for children of 6 and up to be able to stand up. The kitchen and living areas are spacious and full of natural light. We enjoyed a number of evenings sat out on the balcony enjoying the spectacular night sky. I couldn’t have been more impressed with this property. Thanks for allowing us to stay!.
