Summary: While the property itself is accurately represented in the photos, our stay was significantly negatively impacted by several logistical challenges that future guests should be aware of. A major area for improvement is the host's communication process. All communication, from booking confirmation to check-out, was conducted exclusively via personal email, bypassing the VRBO app entirely. We were also required to submit sensitive personal information (a driver's license and photos) through an unfamiliar third-party site, which felt insecure. This request was made twice - once before booking and again just before we were given access instructions. The process for entering the building was particularly unconventional and inconvenient. Each time we needed to enter, we had to call the host, provide our name, and wait for them to grant remote access. This was not only time-consuming but also felt unsafe, as it often left us waiting on the street. Minor notes on the interior: the floors are extremely creaky, making it difficult to move around without disturbing others. Additionally, the beds only had a fitted sheet and a duvet, with no top sheet provided. We believe the guest experience could be vastly improved by managing all communication and verification securely through the VRBO platform and by implementing a more standard, guest-managed entry system like a keypad or lockbox.

Summary: Very nice place! Not many kitchen amenities available as there was no way to heat up something in the oven with no baking sheet or foil. Getting into the apartment was not very easy as we had to call a number to be remotely let in every time we wanted to use the front door.

Summary: We had a great stay — the apartment was clean, spacious, and in a peaceful, walkable neighborhood with plenty of restaurants nearby. There’s even a playground right across the street, and it was super convenient to the science museum, which we were visiting.A few things to be aware of:Parking is on the street -- would be nice to know that when booking. It worked out fine, but took some maneuvering and a bit of time to find a spot.The check-in process included several verification steps. We were asked to submit a photo ID (front and back), a selfie, and the names and ages of everyone in our party. This was more than we've typically experienced when booking vacation rentals. We were also asked to notify them an hour before we arrive so they could prepare the unit -- I pushed back on the request and asked them to have the place ready by the agreed check-in time, which they did.Communication happened across both the VRBO app and text, and it wasn’t always in sync, which added some friction. That said, the place was spotless and ready when we arrived, so ultimately it all worked out.The building itself is older and full of character, which we liked. The floors are quite squeaky (earplugs were kindly provided). Overall, a comfortable place in a great location.
