Positive: Location was absolutely perfect for us. We walked from the station, our hike started just over the bridge and we ate at the pub.

Negative: We got very wet so lit the wood burner but there were no logs.

Summary: Lovely cottage - perfect base for doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

Negative: The living room had a sooty smell. Once aired out it was OK but it really hit you as you walked in.

Positive: A great location for walking and very characterful cottage. Walk from the door to Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent, the Pennine way and other grand paths. The car park was very close, and the owner left a yearly parking permit so we could display when not loading and unloading. The car can be conveniently perched outside the door for such operations, and is safe off the road, but I understand the parking space belongs to the pub across the yard, so not fair to park any longer than that.

Negative: I must qualify my apparent disapproval of the double bed! It was fine to sleep in, but has a sharp-edged board surrounding the mattress on which one can easily get bruised if not careful. The cooking facilities were fair, but only one frying pan with a severely domed bottom (good for playing "spin the skillet!" and a lack of functional lids. Otherwise everything great.
