Summary: We had 4 nights at Killearn Cottage and couldn't fault it one bit. The house was extremely spacious, very clean and had everything and more you needed. The host was great in their correspondence and replied quickly to any queries. I would highly recommend this property, lovely, homely and cosy place.

Summary: We thank you for our chance to stay at your cottage and experience the delights of Portmahomack. As your email to us indicated you are interested in ensuring that we should enjoy what your cottage has to offer. There were many aspects of the house which were lovely, the decor, the comfy furniture in the sitting room, the starter pack, the modern kitchen and bathroom complete with excellent shower, the beautiful copper beech and bush/shrub beside it, the view, the peace and the space. For all of these we give thanks, however, we confess that we were a little disappointed in a few aspects of the cottage. To help you ensure that others can enjoy your hospitality at its best the following is a list indicating areas which we believe you would like to get seen to or to let future holidaymakers aware of when they arrive or before if appropriate. Sitting Room: broken curtain holder, dusting, (we did the windowsill), central heating worked for the back radiator but not the big one in front of the window (it was blowing half a gale when we were arrived, cold air was coming down the chimney and we couldn’t get the room comfortable), Downstairs bathroom: toilet flush does work but only after a long wait between flushes, we put the air freshener from the downstairs bedroom in here as the one provided was empty, Kitchen: we replaced the batteries in the scales which weren’t working, one of the knives in the knife block was found to be broken, there doesn’t seem to be a knife sharpener although one has been used, both the kitchen and the utility room need better air fresheners as the ones in the utility room are inadequate for the oil smell from the boiler, (one of our previous homes had an oil boiler that worked on similar principles which didn’t smell), one of the chairs had dried food on it (now clean) and one of the frying pans ditto, we hadn’t ever experienced such a modern kitchen (lovely, thank you) and really weren’t sure how to dispose of our waste (no instructions). We contacted previous holidaymakers who told us to use the bins as they stood in their cupboard (we hope we did right), no hand towel; Utility room: although the boiler came on and heated the kitchen and utility room beautifully, the rest of the house was cold most of the time the sun wasn’t shining. We suspect the thermostat is in the wrong place; Upstairs bathroom (also lovely): fixed the loo seat, which was moveable and in the wrong position, the extractor fan doesn't work.
