The Cottage at Ostrich Farm is beautifully converted barn, lovingly restored by the owners to an exceptional standard where great care has been taken to make it the perfect base for your Peak District holiday. Located in a friendly village on the outskirts of Ashbourne by approximately 6 miles. The nearest pub to the property is located just over a mile away serving homecooked delicious food and local ales. Arrive at Ostrich Farm up the private driveway to The Cottage door where there is generous parking for up to three cars. Enter in the main door to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen is finished to a high standard with all the appliances you should need for the duration of your stay and to cook up a lovely breakfast before a busy day of exploring, there is a dining table to seat six guests plus a breakfast bar with two stools. The living area offers a large TV, comfortable seating and a warming wood burner, this is a great social room in the house where you can all gather to enjoy each other’s company. There is a utility room with washing machine and hanging drying rack. Also located on the ground floor is the first of three bedrooms, this is a double bedroom with kingsize bed that can be made into two single beds on request and a wet room en-suite. Upstairs there are a further two bedrooms; one with super kingsize bed, TV and en-suite with luxurious spa bath with shower over. The other has a kingsize bed, TV and walk-in shower room. There are beautiful views from the bedrooms upstairs of the surrounding countryside. Outside there is a patio area with outdoor table and chairs, a perfect sun trap to enjoy your morning coffee.
Ashbourne is one of the best destinations in the Peak District for walking and cycling, there are ample trails with the most famous being the Tissington Trail, Dovedale Stepping Stones and Carsington Water which has a great 8-mile route plus many water activities and bird watching. Alton Towers theme park is located under 30 minutes from the property which makes a great day out for all the family, there is plenty to do to keep all ages entertained and The Cottage is the perfect place to retreat to come the end of your exciting day.
