2 Bedroom Cabin in Freeburg

The carefully hewn pine walls stand as they have for more than 40 years - simple, sturdy, and strong. This log cabin is a cozy retreat just 20 miles fromthe St. Louis Arch and 7 miles from Scott Air Force Base. We are the perfect destination for a family, couple, group, or friends getaway!
This magnificent two-story log cabin has two large sitting rooms, dining area, robust kitchenette with mid-size refrigerator, sinks, toaster oven, induction hot plate, coffee pot and kettle. There are three custom built fireplaces, one in each sitting room, and one upstairs in the suite. The upstairs suite is charmingly appointed with a queen size bed and a private bathroom that boasts a luxurious, old fashioned clawfoot tub with curtain & shower. The second bedroom on the ground floor has a twin size bed. There is an additional queen size convertible sofa in the TV room, a queen size futon in the living room, and a convertible twin size chair in the living room.
This listing does not include the downstairs "Westerfield Kitchen Flat", which is separated by a locked door and is also available for rent.
We will send check-in info 24 hours before your arrival. In addition to the crib in the upstairs suite, there is a pac-n-play or cot available if needed. Please message us any time for assistance before, during, or after your stay.
Though just a short drive from St. Louis, our village is in the heartland of America with 4,500 residents. We hope you will enjoy a walk back into nature; a wonderful alternative to the hectic pace offered by city hotels and inns.
We are three miles from the metrolink, but this cabin is easiest reached by car. Uber and Lyft are usually available. Also be aware, the address is 8059 but the actual turn is at marker 8041.
The cabin has 2 parking spots in the adjacent parking lot, they are well marked. Please only park in the lot, not in the driveway as a courtesy to other guests. Trailers/oversized vehicles require approval, may incur an additional fee.

The televisions (2) have local channels and a DVD players built in. Some books, games, and movies are provided. There is a Ring doorbell on the front porch.

Summary: Communication was great. Loved the property- close enough to towns yet far enough away to feel tucked away. (Mile and half from the main road) Main Cabin is charming and has some friends outside (2 cats, chickens and a Guinea) We will definitely be booking again while coming to visit friends in the future!! Summary: The cabin is absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect for us, because it was close enough to the city for visiting/exploring, but far enough away to experience the peace and quiet of the country. Interaction with the VRBO owner is super. Joy was very prompt, professional, positive, and friendly. We arrived after dark, and she had turned a few lights on for us. We felt more than welcome upon entering, because there was a handwritten greeting card, a box of Valentine's day chocolates, and a vase of flowers on the kitchen table. The kitchen had everything that we needed. Everything about this cabin is interesting, including the history. The decor is tastefully done, including antiques and modern items. We appreciated the collection of games, music CD's and DVD movies. This cabin gave us that "at home" feeling, because there are just so many personal items provided (specialty soaps, coffee, biscottis, tea bags, etc.). Our last night was the "icing on the cake" because we got to put our feet up and relax on the couch in front of a fire in the the beautiful fireplace. We definitely "unplugged" during our stay at the cabin. Thank you very much! Mr. & Mrs. K.
