Summary: We spent a fabulous four nights at High Trodigal last week. The accommodation was exactly as it was described and provided us with the perfect base for a few days of taking it easy. We enjoyed miles of Machrihanish beach walks and muddy forest hikes during the day and then made the most of the sauna and wonderful spa bath before relaxing in front of the log stove in the evening. Our puppy, Albert, loved the time away with us, with all the walks and attention, and he enjoyed the views as much as we did. Highly recommend. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: Had a great holiday at High Trodigal. Well equipped house, very spacious, great big bed, sauna and spa bath. The little terrace was a great spot for enjoying a drink in the sun. Amazing distant coastal views including the islands. Beautiful sunsets. Linda and Mike are great hosts, always available for extra info and providing a lot of extra welcoming treats. Conveniently located close the Campbeltown for shopping and visiting the distilleries. Great walks close by, both on the east and west coast. Big sandy beaches that are not overcrowded. A lot of iron age and other historic sites to be enjoyed. Just great!

Summary: Fabulous sums it up. With COVID still high on agenda it was great to get away from it all. Self contained accommodation with all needs catered for. Partner liked the star gazing pack, although typically skies weren’t suitable during our stay. Both jacuzzi bath and sauna were a lovely touch and having a decent shower was ace too. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, the open planned nature meant I had company and views. Highly recommend property anytime of year. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: High Trodigal is probably one of the best appointed cottages we’ve had the pleasure of staying in. From the outside, sitting in a hillside, the design of the cottage is creative, unique and romantic. The views are wonderful from its elevated position and the feeling of isolation and tranquility is all around you. A real breath of fresh air. Mike and Linda, the owners have taken time, care and dedication to build the cottage and no detail overlooked inside with every appliance and kitchen tool you need for a wonderful self catering stay. There’s even a milk frother to finish off a fluffy cappuccino. Linda's welcome was warm and friendly and she had thoughtfully placed a birthday ballon, card and chocolates to celebrate my wife’s big birthday. A bottle of Champagne to accompany a welcome hamper is a super finishing touch. We can’t recommend this cottage highly enough. You won’t be disappointed. Honestly!

Summary: This is a superb luxury cottage in a gorgeous location. Eco-friendly, lovely hosts in Linda and Mike who provided excellent communication in the lead up to our arrival. The cottage is luxurious throughout - spacious living / kitchen / dining area, wi-fi and TV with Netflix etc. for those nasty weather days (we only half a day of rain in a week), high quality bathroom with sauna and jacuzzi bath. Lots of books, including many on the local area featuring places of interest, walking and cycling. Very close to Macrihanish Golf Club if that's your thing. Mine is walking, and this area is superb for varied walks, my favourite being the four mile beach stretch between Macrihanish and Westport Beach. Any downsides? The only one I would say is the amenities in Macrihanish. There is little there (although loads in Campbeltown, which is an easy 7 minute drive away) and we weren't impressed with the Clubhouse pub - very basic food compared to other offerings in Kintyre. It isn't cheap when you are looking at cottages, but in our view you get what you pay for, which is why I've given Value For Money a 10 rating. The sign of a great holiday to us is when you say 'Do you remember, this time last week we were...'; we most definitely did that with our stay at High Trodigal and Kintyre, and will most certainly be back to this excellent cottage.
