Positive: Very spacious accomodation with two floors, all possible amenities you'd need, nice and cosy atmosphere, within walking distance of various (small) shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here; it was a nice break from the -usually cramped- accommodation in Japan. Clearly the host has made an effort to make people feel at home: there are some board games, welcome-cookies, kitchen with all condiments, etc. Greatly appreciated.

Negative: The parking space requires some skill with a larger car, but it's doable. As with all accomodation in Japan: some shelves, hooks or a cupboard for guests to put their stuff on/in rather than scattering it over the floor, would have been nice.

Summary: Comfortable, spacious and well-equipped.

Positive: I was a little dubious when i booked this little cottage, but there aren't a lot of accommodation options in the area for gaijin trying to book on sites like this. Fortunately, What you see is what you get, the photos of the property show you basically everything. It's cute. It's clean. It's minimalist but has everything you need. You'll sleep on futons. There's split system A/C to keep the place cool or cosy. There's a car space. It's easy to find, just off the main road thru town. 5ish minute walk to an excellent local izakaya. 10ish mins to a good supermarket and a Lawson. Never met the host but they provided good written instructions with pictures on how to get in.

Negative: The parking space is EXTREMELY tight, our boxy little rental car had about 6 inches clearance on either side, and getting into it was made harder by the fact that the street is very narrow and there isn't space to back straight in. It took me about 6 goes to do it. They do provide a map for a bigger space you can park in a little down the road, but we arrived in the pouring rain and dragging our bags through the downpour wasn't on the cards. Annoyingly, there's a spacious car park next door but you can't use it. The bedroom/sleeping space is up stairs, which were quite steep. We didn't bother trying to take our bags up and just spread out downstairs in the living room. The toilet is downstairs so if you're the kind of person that needs to get up to pee during the night (like me) then be prepared for a struggle. The towels provides were some of the smallest I've ever seen, I couldn't even dry myself properly with them.

Summary: A decent enough option considering there's very limited accommodation in the area

Positive: The house was really clean and well equipped. Everything we needed including washing powder for the laundry and snacks

Negative: Parking was very tight but we managed
