Positive: It is a refurbished traditional Japanese house. The lodging is at the back of a shop so it is away from the road and very private. Shop only operates during lunch so there is no disturbance. Well-thought amenities. Comfortable beds on the 2nd floor, huge bath with a garden view and shower. Free parking.

Negative: It was very confusing trying to enter the property. We had to incur international phone call charges to contact the owner to get the code to access the key. My advice to others is to contact the owner prior to your travel to get the code if u didn’t receive any from booking.com

Positive: I was expecting to get only a room but was happily suprised finding a well equiped kitchen and bathroom + a lovely living room. The owner has put great attention to the small details which made our stay extra comfortable. The house is really cute and the restaurant attached to it offers delicious set lunches. There is a bus stop 20mm away to get to the train station. Good location too, very close to the main street.

Negative: Not a fan of the digitalized checkin / checkout system as I feel a lot of private details are requested and we have no idea were these details are going to be stored nor how they are going to be used.

Positive: I checked in late at night, and I was having trouble understanding the instructions. When I messaged the host, they were immediately responsive and helped me gain access despite the late hour. I was tired from a day of heavy travelling, so I really appreciated how helpful they were. I thought the property was absolutely gorgeous and felt so sad to be only staying there one night, I would love to come back to stay longer. There were so many thoughtful little extra touches, such as condiments in the fridge and an electric blanket. I was really comfortable and enjoyed it a lot. I stayed in a few different traditional Japanese houses during my trip and this was by far the nicest. So beautiful and well maintained. I really enjoyed the bathtub, having a soak with the doors open to the courtyard garden was really lovely. The beds were also the most comfortable I had during my trip!

Negative: The entry instructions seemed a little confusing to me but maybe I was just tired lol
