Positive: We loved our little brown house on top of the hill made from mud bricks by the owner with their own hands. Inside, the rough white walls with beautiful little details like the silhouette of a mountain carved into the plaster, the soft lines and the round window across from the bed made it so cozy! Despite this being in a tiny remote mountain village and the property all self-built, the room was very clean and had a fantastic hot shower. The rooftop bathtub and the view across the valley were also to die for. What made this stay even more wonderful was our lovely hostess. While taking care of her two kids, the herb garden and the chickens, she also brought us herb tea and a little wood stove at nightfall so we could warm our feet while looking out at the starry sky. The breakfast was simple but delicious. Since we love trekking, we loved the walk up the mountain. But the next morning, our hostess drove us out back to the main road to our next destination, the Mae Sa Waterfall.

Negative: A few ants came to keep us company at night, but we didn't really mind!
