Our traditional cottage is situated at the foothill of the Asterousia Mountains south Heraklion , offering an astonishing view of the Messara Valley.This peaceful location can become your springboard for exploring historical sites and places of unique beauty in the area. You can choose between hopping off on a few minutes’ drive to the world famous archaeological site of Phaistos (22 Km) and Gortyna (12 km) or enjoying the wonderful golden-sand beaches of Tripiti (12 km), Matala (30 km), Lentas (20 km), and Kalamaki (33 km).
International airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” in Heraklion is 62 km away.
In Stavies you will get to know the renowned Cretan hospitalityand the local traditions. Many local events are held throughout the year. You will find traditional “Kafeneia” offering coffee, beverages and food, mini-markets, meat-markets, fruit-markets, a gas station and a pharmacy. It has two bedrooms, a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom with real stone and is surrounded by a beautiful private garden with a grapevine and a pomegranate tree. Imagine waking up in the morning and enjoying your breakfast in a paradise of beautiful colours and refreshing smells. It is fully equipped with all the essential appliances and more, such us a TV, a fridge, an electric cooker, an iron, a toaster, a coffee maker, a juicer, a kettle, a clothes washing machine, a hair dryer, baby crib and high chair. The amenities also include a WC with a shower and parking space. We also offer a bottle of wine and a bottle of extra virgin olive oil of our family production.

Summary: We (my wife and I) came from Heraklion in Stavies at 22:00. Before, we had contact via SMS and sent a message to the contact person Doris that we should arrive within 15 minutes. She was waiting for us and showed the way to 'our' house. That was a good start! We hired the house for 10 days. It was a convenient place with all the things we wished (for example, an excellent working WiFi). The garden and space around the house, the privacy, the possibility to ask things to Doris, it was a good choice to rent this house! We had a nice stay!
