Positive: Location with perfect access to the south and west coast (Lagos and Carvalhal) (see images). Room with personal entrance and nice view from window. During the night you can see a lot of stars and hear owls. The host provides local information on where to go and what to eat: the surroundings have a lot of plants; see cork trees and nice views

Positive: Perfect quiet location, less than 30min from the most beautiful beaches. Great facilities and super comfortable beds. Rita and her two dogs are the perfect hosts. Highly recommended for a few days stay!

Positive: Our favorite stay in Portuga! We spent one night here while our host Rita took great care of us. Rita is super cool and friendly. Her large house is very quiet, clean and modern and situated in the Monchique Mountains of the Algarve. We would always come back and can absolutely recommend staying here~

Positive: A lovely, genuine stay tucked away in the Monchique forests. Rita opened up her home to us and that's exactly how it felt — like staying with a friend. We had full use of the kitchen and the rest of the house, which made everything very comfortable and easy. Rita herself is warm and welcoming, and her two dogs are an absolute delight. There's something really special about a place that has this kind of personal touch. A great Airbnb-style experience in a beautiful natural setting.

Positive: We had a lovely stay at Rita's place. She's a super nice and warm host and we had a great time with her on the outside terrace enjoying the beautiful sunset in the mountains and later the stars with wines and snacks. Also the house and the garden are beautiful and the bed is really comfy. We would definitely stay here again!

Negative: We were not aware that they had dogs on the property. And that they ran freely about the place. Also did not know that we’d have to carry our luggage up so many flights of stairs.

Positive: This beautiful, recently renovated hillside house with amazing views is hosted by Rita, who is friendly, welcoming and goes out of her way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. It is definitely worth having her amazing breakfast! Conveniently just off the main road between Caldas and Monchique, but quiet and idyllic location. Very peaceful. Highly recommended.
