Positive: The room was lovely, the food excellent and the stay was relaxing.

Negative: There was a mix up with the communication for the family room. There was no option to have an extra bed in the room so we had to pay for a second room. The staff were good about it but it was almost a problem.

Positive: What a wonderful place! Fantastic pub and so friendly. We were en route home to Lancashire from Gatwick and this was a superb location for a very relaxing stay.

Negative: Great room, great pub, great staff. There were many wonderful things to say about this place. Roaring fires, wonderful food, excellent beer and wine, friendly dogs and more. But I particularly enjoyed the note in the room that said to ask for fresh milk. I have a huge dislike of uht milk so was very happy to be offered fresh milk for my late night cuppa. Breakfast was also wonderful. Staff and owners managed that fabulous balance of friendly but not overly so. We would definitely stay again.

Positive: Lovely staff, great food, nice bustling pub in the evening to get involved with, cosy and quite fireside breakfast and relax before heading out for the day. Stayed in single occupancy bedroom and it was perfect, cosy and comfy.

Negative: Windows don’t all open. Warm night. Needed them open. But on a busy road. Some rooms are not on the font. In winter this won’t matter.

Positive: A fantastic old inn, just like you imagine an English inn would be. The staff was very nice and the food was good. The room was clean, with a spacious bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Negative: The traffic can cause some noise when it’s busy, because the inn is close to the road.
