Negative: You'd be lucky to find a room as good as the photos; for €100 per night, you expect something more. As soon as I entered the room, I found a musty smell and the carpet in front of the bathroom door was very wet. This was due to work being done that day due to a leak. The staff's kindness wasn't enough to solve the problem, as I wasn't given a different room (as it wasn't available) or a discount.

Positive: We loved everything about this hotel. The location is ideal for exploring Skye. You can walk out the door and start hiking. Drive to the right and you're headed toward Talisker and Fairy Pools. To the left, Portree, Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Dunvegan Castle, and the Quirang. The hotel is perfect. Beautiful, practical rooms with comfortable beds, a nice closet, and plenty of light. The bathroom has an amazing shower and, the rarest of all Scottish unicorns...washcloths! Towels are huge and water pressure is terrific. Parking is free. Breakfast was included with our rate, and it is delicious! Lots of choices from full Scottish to avocado toast. The restaurant next door, Seumas's, is also a bar. Food is pretty great and the service is excellent. Lots of beers and whiskies, too. Shout out to Marion who made our stay especially wonderful. She is a gem of a human.

Positive: The hotel was happy to accommodate our late arrival and a later departure

Negative: The breakfast was adequate and the service functionary and a little dispassionate but I guess it is the end of the season and they are probably over the tourists but it is an expensive stay and equally a special event for those at the beginning of the season as at the end. The desk in the bedroom was a little shaky and the tea facilities were a little tired.

Positive: The room was great, including the bathroom facilities. I really loved the shower! A fan really would have been nice, as we couldn't really keep the window open too far due to how many midges were around. The breakfast was delicious but very slow for the ordered breakfast beyond the continental. The rooms were updated but it seemed like some of the common spaces could use a refresh as well. I was expecting a much more polished hotel for the price but I think it was the area and scarcity of availability that drove the pricing.

Negative: A fan being offered in the room would have been great. Also, the front desk staff check-in was slightly awkward as I wasn't sure we had completed and done everything needed, then two staff members were talking about time off, etc. I felt they could have waited, as I felt like a nuisance or that I shouldn't have been standing there while they had this conversation.
