Positive: The cottage is beautiful, full of traditional decor and homely touches, including wood carvings by a family member. The kitchen is well stocked, there's an outside barbeque area and a covered upstairs balcony with an amazing view to mountains. The garden is lush, with lots of flowers, and herbs that can be used in cooking, and there are lots of birds and butterflies around. The weather was hot during our stay but the cottage, terrace and balcony all remained comfortable. Having two toilets was also great! The hosts showed us a lot of maps of the area with walking trails and points of interest, and made sure we were ok with everything before they left.

Negative: As a driver, I'd encourage visitors to really try and arrive during daylight! We got there after dark and the last section of the road is rough and extremely narrow, with a few fairly steep bits, so it was very hair-raising in the dark! You do need to be a confident driver, and large vehicles will be difficult to manoeuvre. The hosts met us in the village and we followed in our car so we knew where to go, and were very helpful when I was concerned about getting around a sharp turn. No downsides to the cottage itself - it's lovely, comfortable and in a beautiful quiet setting (although it doesn't have a washing machine) - but it was something of an added adventure driving in and out each day!
