Positive: The location was within close walking distance to the Metro station and there were places to do your food shopping. The was a very nice breakfast place next to the Metro station.

Negative: The place has no elevator, so we had to climb several flights of stairs with our large luggage to get to the second floor. The room has no air conditioning, but has large windows that open like doors or partially from the top part. Night time the street noise is less to allow this. The bathroom opens up to the bedroom with no privacy separation. And the toilet did not have sufficient flush capability other than for #1 (to take a ‘pee’). However, each floor did have an external toilet room so you could do #2 (to doo doo). Because there is no reception area, you will need to use We Chat to communicate with the hotel staff, who do not get back to you right away.

Summary: Great to get a period feel for the area.

Positive: The decor was really nice and unique. The room was a good size.

Negative: Definitely not soundproof. You could hear people from outside the building, corridors and ceiling. It was advertised as soundproof but it was clearly not. Flat screen really small and not working.

Positive: Interesting decor throughout, comfortable beds, good shower. The Aircon was great in very hot weather. Well equipped kitchen with use of fridge, Nespresso type coffee maker etc. Two pleasant sitting places. Good location, station, sites, supermarket

Negative: No tea or coffee in room, even instant - risky to carry hot drinks up four floors. Inevitable street noise. Falls between two stools, neither a guesthouse with breakfast + reception, nor self-catering apartments - could probably be converted to the latter quite readily.
