Positive: Staying at la casa de ricky feels like staying home! He will do everything to try to make your stay better. It's one of those place that is very authentic. Totally recommand!

Positive: Rickey, the owner, is very forthcoming and helps you with everything you need! From information about hikes, how to get there, to doing laundry. The shared room itself is quite nice, has a toilet and a hot shower in the room and there are also lockers! The property is very pretty, with its garden and it also has a shared kitchen!

Negative: The property is a little walk away from the center of Caraz, but that's only a small downside.

Summary: Clean, friendly, forthcoming.

Positive: Ricky is hands down the best host I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcome and at home. The facilities are excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The shower had reliably hot water (a big plus!), and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying every day. You can feel the care and love Ricky puts into everything he does. His two friendly dogs and super cuddly cat made the place feel even more like home. I can’t recommend staying here enough—thank you for everything, Ricky!

Summary: Hidden gem in Caraz ! Ricky is the best host : warm, generous, with great facilities, hot showers, and delicious meals!

Positive: I had an amazing stay at la casa de Ricky and would 100% recommend. I booked for one night but ended up staying three. The 4 bed room is spacious with very comfortable beds, lockers and hot shower. The place is really pretty with a big and beautiful garden. Ricky was super friendly and helpful, he would wake up especially to make me breakfast before I went hiking. He has two friendly dogs and a very cute cat. Truly the best place I've stayed in whole Peru !

Positive: The Hostal has a large piece of grassland, quite comfortable and with fresh air.

Negative: It is about 1.5 kilo away from minibus terminal. Also it is located at the end of the slope. Best to take the taxi.

Positive: Perfect place to stay in Caraz if you love animals, nature & finding that home from home. Ricky's increibleyy attentive, always happy to help however he can & share a tea. Comfy beds & an amazing space to relax and soak up the sun in the garden before/after a hike. I was only going to stay a night or two & ended up here for almost a week. Great location right at the start for the hike up to San Juan & only 10/15mins walking to the main plaza + market. Shop right across the street & a guaranteed good time, can't wait to get back here and see how Ricky's dream grows from here.

Negative: The fact that I had to leave :(
