Positive: It was a lovely cottage, part of the owner’s farmhouse. It had plenty of character and felt like staying in a relative’s home. It was a relaxing place and felt comfortable to bring our dog. My daughter enjoyed her room with an ensuite shower and mezzanine. We enjoyed a comfortable bed and the bathroom with plenty of hot water. There was a small enclosed garden at the back where we could let the dog out in the morning.

Negative: It suited us perfectly but if you expect shiny spotless surfaces it might be less good.

Summary: An enjoyable stay in a characterful cottage with a very helpful host.

Positive: Good location and space. Took our 3 dogs which was our main priorityq. The owner was proactive in providing general information and ensuring all was OK.

Negative: The lived in feel and joining accommodation may not suit all. We didn't really mind. A little declutter and update here and there would suit a broader interest.

Summary: It was more akin to staying at a relatives property, we enjoyed our stay with the dogs.

Positive: This cosy country-style rental accommodation is one half of the C17 farmhouse pictured, with our hostess living in the other half, and a farmyard with chickens and horses behind. Located on the High Street of the attractive village of Tilshead, right next door to the Rose & Crown pub, and with a small shop attached to the petrol station five minutes walk away. Only a few minutes drive from Stonehenge, and in easy reach of Devizes and Avebury. Delightful and very helpful hostess, who showed us how to get the wood burner going and passed on various other tips. Enclosed garden to the rear, and dogs welcome, though they need to be on a lead around the farm.

Negative: Perfect stay.
