Summary: From the moment we arrived we received excellent service. All of the staff including the Amstar, taxis and Xcaret staff that they work with were incredibly attentive and made sure everything they helped us plan was executed perfectly. The kosher food is very delicious. The room was clean and spacious. There are multiple kosher restaurants within walking distance, as well as hundreds of shops. It is a very safe area for walking. The hotel helped us with transportation and tickets to the parks. When we arrived at the park, there was someone there to greet us and walk us through the entrance to receive all necessary wrist bands, helmets, instructions, etc. Our driver was outside waiting for us to take us back after as well. We can’t wait to go again next year!!

Summary: The staff at the Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen was incredibly courteous and attentive, which we greatly appreciated throughout our stay. However, this resort is not particularly family-friendly. There are no slides or kid-focused activities on the property, so families with children may want to keep that in mind. Thankfully, we booked two excursions to the Xcaret parks, which were fun and made up for the lack of on-site entertainment—but do be prepared to spend extra for those. We opted for the all-inclusive package, but there are important details to note. Some items on the menus come with an additional charge and are not included in the package. The minibar is also not part of the all-inclusive deal. The food selection leans heavily toward kosher-style cuisine, which may not suit every palate. The pool area was a highlight, offering a beautiful view of the beach. Unfortunately, the beach had significant sargassum during our stay, so we weren’t able to swim in the ocean. One nice perk was that the all-inclusive package included access to the spa’s sauna and pool for one day (no children allowed), though massages are not included. The resort has only three dining options: The Grill (which requires a reservation), a sushi restaurant, and La Cocina, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closes for the rest of the day—except on Fridays, when it reopens for dinner. Lastly, transportation to and from the airport is not included and must be paid separately.

Summary: The service was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding. Our server most of the time was Walter. He gave us tips for places to go and how to get there easier. We felt welcomed and appreciated. All the staff at the restaurant La Cocina was wonderful.
