Positive: A lovely old British cottage on the hills of Nainital in a quiet area (which is not that common in India, I guess). Both the owner and the caretaker were very friendly and helpful, we got great tips for restaurants. City centre is 15-20 mins downhill, and uphill when you coming back. We only walked but you should be able to take a cab if you dont feel like walking. There is a washing machine available, so you can wash your clothes quite easily. I found both the accomodation and the area quite charming, and honestly this place had the comfiest bed (I prefer firm ones) during our whole trip in India.

Positive: Property has a old world charm. Nestled in the forest property has an unique ambience. Mr Rajesh was very helpful and guided us regarding the places of interest around Nainital. Caretaker Ganesh was very helpful and efficient.

Positive: The period property with good period features and furniture. very clean throughout with helpful caretaker who provided a basic breakfast. on site site parking availability and separate lodgings and breakfast for driver provided (for a small fee). electric blankets and room heaters provided making the rooms cosy and comfortable

Negative: no conveniences, like corner shops, close by as property was off the beaten path, which was part of its charm. however the Ayar jungle resort was a good place to eat. the mattresses were slightly too firm.
