Positive: The location was perfect for a peaceful night away.

Negative: When booked and on arrival in a welcome book. It said wood was supplied for the sauna. How ever they dont supply the wood no more.There is no local shops and after you get settled last thing you want to do is get ready and go back a fair drive to get wood. Also no wood supplied for fire inside the hut and was very chilly in the evening. For the price you pay you would expect some wood for the fire in the hut but not even that. So if you book here make sure you bring plenty of wood as they dont supply or sell them. The hot tub is very tight now they have these small electric ones so cant really enjoy the hot tub unless a solo travel and stick thin. Replay back from host while there took some time which wasn't ideal for a one night stay

Positive: Love the location, stayed in the hot tub all evening!

Negative: Its a minor thing, but the listing says fitted kitchen, only found out the night before there is only an icebox that you need to bring icepacks for and a single hob camping stove so it was little time to prepare. We would still have booked it but it would have been easier if we had known from the listing.

Summary: Will definitley return!!

Positive: The cabin was really comfortable. Nice to have our own shower and toilet. Hot tub was amazing. The location was great being so close to Barmouth. We took our two dogs who enjoyed the location.

Negative: Recommendations rather that criticism. It was a mission to find the site and then another to find our cabin! The cabins have small signs on approach that gives the name, unfortunately ours had fell over. We tried 3 cabins before we found ours! Maybe bigger fixed signs would be better. A suggestion if your visiting the site, take comfortable chairs as there was just a small bench outside on the veranda, maybe take some fly spray for inside the cabin and mosquito spray for outside, maybe also pack a toaster.

Summary: A fanstic stay for me my wife and two dogs. Great location for Barmouth visits. I would recommend the site in a flash.

Positive: A lovely secluded place to stay, loved the sauna and hot tub, and kettle!

Negative: We were there for 3 nights and it was raining so lots of wet stuff - an airer would have been a good addition, but I would just remember to take one next time.

Summary: A wonderful place to get away from it all.

Negative: We visited in December, it was hard to warm up the hot tub (took over 4 hours), the majority of the wood was wet so it made it harder to warm up. In order to sleep in the warm room you need to keep the fire burning constantly. Plus extra 20£ to preheat sauna, hot tub and the room (basically to start the fire prior you coming) In the summer this will be a great experience, however in the cold period you won't enjoy it so much.

Positive: We stayed at the Chestnut Tree House for our trip to Wales for the experience. We did arrive quite late into the evening during Autumn, so it was no longer light. The tree house was relatively easy to find even in the dark, thanks to the videos and instructions provided through WhatsApp. We picked up firewood from the small house as you enter, then drove up to our tree house. The keys were on the bed on arrival. The treehouse itself is nice and clean, the bed is comfy and the information given about the surrounding area (such as takeaways) was useful for us as we had never been to Wales previously. Be warned as you will most likely not want to keep leaving and driving back up to the treehouse as the roads are quite steep and thin. So maybe get some food/snacks/drinks before going. But we managed this even with a Fiesta. The fireplace in the room itself was very nice and easy to use. You are given videos on how to use the fireplaces, again, via WhatsApp. The views outside the room in the morning are beautiful and I'd recommend taking a small wonder in the surrounding area to see it. The bathroom was also clean, functioning toilet, and a small kitchen with a gas burner to use with a kettle. You're given a few firelighters to use but I would recommend bringing more/a lighter in case you run out. Also, bring a torch! The path leading up to the room is dark and relatively steep. When leaving, you just leave the keys in the room again, you don't have any contact with the host. Only via text. They did answer any questions we had. Overall, the views were beautiful, the room itself was nice. I'm glad we had the experience.

Negative: The lights for the path leading up to the room, and outside the room, are solar powered. Meaning, they weren't working in the dark when we arrived. We had to use the torch to go up the path, and to see anything outside of the room (there is no outside lighting that isn't solar powered, so it is pitch black in the dark and around the hot tub). There were more light switches inside the cabin but they didn't seem to do anything, I thought they would turn on some outside lighting but they didn't. Luckily we had brought some fairy lights that were battery powered, to use outside. The instructions given for the hot tub were different to the hot tub we had. We hadn't ever used a wood burning hot tub before. We were told the method was the same, but to us the set up was totally different. We tried 3 times before ultimately deciding to stop. I would recommend getting it preheated so you don't have to figure it out yourself. The shower also had no hot water, so I wouldn't stay here expecting to shower in the morning. The sink had a small leak.

Summary: Great views. It's an experience, but prepare in advanced.
